Pakistan down Australia with 33-run win in third T20I to seal whitewash

When our batter put up decent totals, our bowlers more often then not deliver the goods...

We have put up decent totals in each again so far.
Surprised so many people couldn’t see that or refuse to accept the truth even when it slaps them on the face.

Man I feel for the Aussies. D team or Z team, this is a mauling of the highest order. Didn't compete in any of the matches, unless you count the two overs in the second T20.

Despite the great catches and some good fielding, Pakistan still manage to drop dolly catches. These are as routine as it gets.

not sure why people were bashing Faheem and Asif for not scoring. Those guys went for it from ball 1 basically. Look at Aus players, they had so much time to get their eyes settled in and which they did and look at them getting out in such a poor manner.

At the ground right now, and the energy levels of this team looks light-years ahead of what it looked like in the Asia Cup.

Pakistan's fielding needs to get better some pretty easy chances gone down that too by supposedly youngsters.

Their T20 team is still pretty good. Steve Smith is not really a good T20 player with only a 21.55 average and a 122 SR. Their really missing Warner though. Credit should go to our bowling because most of these guys are pretty good T20 players.

Aussie's bowling did quite well considering the scores Pakistan managed to put up in all three games.

Only difference is we are on top now. Flip the tables and the same side from Asia cup will return.
Which shows it's not really a matter of skill, but the way these guys crumble when the pressure is on. Australia don't even look like they are playing on the same field right now. The Pakistan that played in the Asia Cup wouldn't have been able to do this.

Bowling is fine!Need to improve our poor batting in LOI's which has been haunting us for quite some time now.

After years of watching games in UAE, I think its safe to say its nearly impossible to score big/slog in UAE. The balls simply don't come on to the bat and pretty much every player struggles to time the ball.

Yeah I doubt Warner would have done much. Finch is a much better T20 player than Warner, but he has been awful to say the least.

Pakistan is playing on another level to this hapless Aussie team.

Australia has not been able to compete in any of the 3 ODI's.
I think Afghanistan would have been much more competetive then this lot.

I didn’t watch any of the Asia Cup but from the manner of the defeats something just didn’t seem right...

I will put that down as an anomaly... we’re a far better side then what showed there.

Buttler's hundred in Dubai was an exception though.

Yes I agree. Asia Cup had something questionable about it.

Yeah the way we capitulated against Afghanistan and Bangladesh was shocking to say the least.

True! If we could score about 300-325 consistently our bowlers would defend it 9/10 times.

Ikr specially when we get good starts, our middle order is unable to end on a high!Batsmen like Asif and Faheem are yet to show their batting skills!

Ever since the T20 when Billy Stanlake rolled us over prompting the "we deserve this humiliation" comment - we've beaten Australia in the next 5 T20s.

The problem is energy levels shouldn't go down in tournaments, if anything there should be extra motivation there. Our guys after the first capitulation against India found the pressure too much for them to handle something that shouldn't have happened. As professionals, they should have been able to foresee what expectations a Pakistan-India encounter brings and should have shed it off and gotten back up. I would put it down to arrogance and overconfidence.

Very poor show from Australia. Looked very weak in confidence. Should have been an easy win after the start they got.

T20 is nothing like ODI. We're a mediocre ODI side.

We did well in the CT obviously, but when expectations were on them, they failed. Good squads meet expectations.

This is why our ranking is what it is.

But but aus can beat us in 9 out of 10 time.

Bowlers won us the series. Batting needs improvement. scores of 150+/- are modest by T20 standards and will not be defendable on most other grounds. Must look to score in the region of 170-180 in order to give the bowlers a fair chance. Cant expect Babar and Fakhar to score all the time. Others need to take responsibility too. Hafeez and Malik were okish. Asif Ali has been given enough chances imo but so far he has failed to come up with consistent performances

Doesn't Pakistan have some sort of crazy unbeaten record in defending 150+ scores?

140-150 plus 35-40 runs due conditions = 175-190 runs which ultimately equals good batting.

Yes Pakistan have a good record defending 150 in T20Is however dont have the exact stats to hand

This is the 30th time Pakistan have bowled an opposition out in T20Is! The most by any international side

Great "home" win for the boys. The only downside is not winning the first test making it a perfect series. Still reckon we need to score more heavily in T20 matches against the top sides! Thought i'd never see the day when the Aussies would not be a top side from what we have recently seen. Now a few days rest before taking on the black caps who it seems will be a greater challenge. Don't we have an able replacement for the useless Asif Ali?

Appalling cricket by Australia. It's sad how bad they have regressed. The likes of Maxwell, Finch and Marsh should have been good enough to atleast be competitive.

Yes dew was a factor but still batting is not top notch imo

Batting needs even greater improvement in ODIs. Fakhar's struggles at the top of the order in Asia Cup exposed the brittle batting line up even more. It became clear that they was not even capable of scoring 230 plus if Fakhar failed upfront!

Happy with the series win but concerned with our batting. Against better teams, 150 may not be enough. Need to raise our game for NZ!
