What's new

Pakistan has no difficult Test series for the next 2 years

I know they are a bad test team and probably the worst among the top9 but at home...they have been churning out good results (by their standards)
since 2016. 1-1 against Australia, 1-1 against England (could have been 2-0 if not for a freak collapse when they were 50 away with 5 wickets in hand), 2-0 against WI etc. And you don't need fast bowlers to do well in Bangladesh....

Don't think Shakib has played a test against Pakistan since 2014 or something. He has improved leaps and bounds over the years and the current Pak side aren't exactly the best at playing SLAO...to put it mildly.

You are bringing 5 year ago decent performance but at the same time saying shakib was not decent 4 to 5 year ago :srt .Seems doesn't suit your agenda

Btw why are you emphasising on their few draw against eng and aus when both have been smash by pak in uae not once but twice .Pak is better than these 2 in asian conditions

All of them will be tough series considering he average batting and bowling line up

getting carried away.. i can easily see sl ban and wi causing us issues or even Zimbabwe.. batting is hardly there and bowling can be hit & miss.

Not sure what is difficult to understand in this opening post.

-The tougher (top 4 opponents) are scheduled to play at home and we can prepare tracks to floor them.

-The weaker (bottom 4 opponent) are scheduled away from home so we have a chance to be more competitive away this time in comparison to our horror shows (barring 2 good Tests) away from home against NZ, Aus, England and South Africa.

So it’s a fair post by the OP with no arrogance at display.

+Pakistan have a great opportunity to lift themselves up from this rock bottom position and build a real momentum now for the next two years.

+Pakistan can now identify a long term coach and coaching staff who are going to help them on this mission of restoring the team’s lost quality in Test cricket.

+Pakistan has the opportunity now to keep a squad of good/fit/athletic cricketers for the next two years with a proper strategy of how they will deal with teams at home and how they will challenge the opponents away from home.

Best of luck Pakistan. It really couldn’t get easier than this considering the difficult times we have endured as a team in recent history.

Exactly. I challenge anybody to come up with an easier 8 series.

Yeah if you think Nauman ali and Zafar gohar are at the same level as Shakib, then definitely... Why not?

Right ok. Shakib has to bowl to Babar, Azhar, Fawad (left hander), Rizwan, Faheem (left hander).

By December, Pakistan most probably will integrate Saud Shaqeel (left hander) and Kamran Ghulam in this line up. These are two player who average around the 50 mark at home in Domestic cricket.

Nauman or Yasir who May not be as flashy as Shakib according to you have to bowl to who in the Bangladesh batting line up? That too on the same types of spinning track you would expect Shakib or Mehidy Hassan Mirza to bowl snakes on?

Pakistan future tests and planning

The next cycle of the test championship sees Pakistan host England, Australia, NZ and tour SL, WI, and Bangladesh.

If we plan for this properly we can have a proper go at this. You can not ask for a better set of away tours.

What do we need to do to make it happen?

Pakistan should look to dominate at home. We need to find some opening batsmen and some spin bowlers.

We should really win all of those series. The home series will be tougher than the away ones but if we play like we have done in this series we can certainly beat England, Australia and NZ at home. Will be amazing series.

Play a 4 man pace attack and reverse swing the opposition. Fawad Alam can do a Nauman Ali job.

Shaheen
Rauf
Hassan
Faheem
Yasir
Fawad

Need to find some top order batsmen because those teams wont give us chances like Saffers.

We would need Babar and fawad to make majority of the runs. I would get imam in the team and open with Azhar if he still feels he has 2 years in him.
And play Saud at 3
