For all the negativity on here, the Pakistan team has done well across formats. Pakistan has the best t20 legacy thus far in the history of the game and produced its three best players (Ajmal, Gul and ofc Afridi). Not to mention reaching the semis of the 2011 world cup, a tournament Pak were supposed to be terrible in with a very mediocre side. On top of all that, they were never outplayed by India, it was a case of the less worse team winning lol
The last world t20 didnt go well but Pakistan have a terrific record overall in the tournament and they have just won the CT in foreign conditions with another mediocre side, and done so in the most thumping manner possible.
All of this, coupled with a very successful test run, undefeated across 14 test series, in two separate time frames (2010-12 and 2014-16), never enjoying the comforts of home, always on the road, players away from families 8 or 9 months a year, while producing THE stand out leg spinner of the decade. Not to mention being more competitive in Australia than any point in years and probably the most competitive any Asian team has been there in a long time.
Sadly, the Pakistani media and internet highlight the negatives and brush aside the positives. A lot of the success is testament to Misbah and hopefully Sarfraz can be as diplomatic, mature and professional. He will be the key in the coming years, he can either be successful or divisive like Akram, Waqar, Moin and plenty of captains throughout the 90s.
