Pakistan more developed, peaceful than 2013: PM Nawaz

HYDERABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday said that the government has broken the backback of terrorism in the country, adding that Pakistan is going through a positive change.

Speaking to Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) supporters, he said that peace has been restored in Karachi now and investors are ready to visit and invest in the city.

“The country was in a bad state of affairs till 2013. A new Pakistan is being created now,” the prime minister said.

PM Nawaz reached Hyderabad on Monday on a day-long visit to address the People's Workers Convention.

The PM visited Hyderabad after four years amid strict security arrangements. Alternate traffic routes for the public were announced earlier in the day.

The prime minister said that Hyderabad doesn’t have functioning hospitals, schools and proper roads. He said that the city will soon have good universities too.

He added that Karachi-to-Hyderabad motorway is under construction and will connect the city to Sukkur and Sukkur to Multan.

“Hyderabad will also have a metro bus service. We will make Hyderabad airport an international airport,” he said.

Earlier, on March 16, the PM announced a development package for Gwadar during his two-day visit to the city. The package includes a university, 300-bed hospital, and desalination plant.

"Gwadar is soon going to experience a new dawn of development and will become the country's unique small district, having all basic amenities similar to big cities," he said in his address to a public gathering here in the coastal city.

The traders of Hyderabad have prepared a gold crown to present to the PM.

'Now PML-N will form govt in Sindh'

Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique said that the PPP-led government in Sindh has left the province in dire straits, adding that the PML-N will give people a better alternative in terms of leadership.

The minister said that those who take votes from people should also deliver.

He said that his party when assuming charge had promised to change the country. “Today, terrorists are fleeing from the country, security forces are driving them away, the country’s coffers are filling up and terrorism is coming to an end.”

Rafique said that the country’s condition is changing but the people of Sindh are in the same state.

General Election 2018 is all about PTI vs Anti-PTI Alliance. Of course Nooras and Jyalas will be presented these stories where they will start believing that PML-N is worried only of PPP and vice versa.

Obviously they can't admit making an Anti PTI alliance. But that's what it is. I can call it from here, an year in advance.

PML-N in Sindh will have campaigns only in areas where PTI is strong as compared to PPP. Nooras will be asked to support PPP there.

And similarly, PPP in Punjab will not touch PML-N strong zone constituencies and will only campaign in areas where PTI is stronger as compared to PML-N. Same goes for KPK and Baluchistan.

This effectively means PML-N will try Karachi and PPP will try Multan belt.

To all Nooras and Jyalas, please remember to give me constant reminders if PPP campaigns in Lhr/Fsd and Gjwla divisions or PML-N in interior Sindh.

More promises by Nawaz, where is the development part? PMLN also made huge promises about ending load shedding and they keep adding more years to the deadline. He played no role in counter terrorism and Karachi is not safe. Just few weeks ago Waqar Zaka bhai was beaten mercilessly and brutally by some thugs in Karachi. If this is how celebrities get treated life is probably even harder for the average guy.

Exactly! Government was still reluctant to launch an operation against TTP. Nawaz Sharif was informed about the operation more than anything and all the APCs were held after operation had already started.

As for development projects, this is 2nd time Hyderabad airport has been announced by PM and he keeps inaugurating same projects again and again. he has already announced Bannu and Kohat airports as well, let's see if/when they are built.
