Good to see some fresh pacers, but it is going to be a very rough ride for them on unforgiving pitches against unforgiving batsmen. They will probably go at over 4-5 runs per over and they should not be judged in Australia.
I also think Abbas’ honeymoon period is over. He was bog average in South Africa and against New Zealand in the UAE, and Australian pitches are not suited to his bowling. He could be in for a rough ride if the likes of Warner tuck into him.
Congratulations to Australia on inflicting yet another whitewash on Pakistan at home.
I've never been convinced by Abbas ever. Sure he has good line and length control but with every Pakistani player, after 1 year they get thoroughly exposed as opponents work them out. Started with Amir, then Hasan Ali and now Abbas.
His 80mph deliveries with good line and length works in the UAE and WI where pitches are hard for stroke makers but he'll be carted everywhere on SA and Aus pitches. He should only be played on seaming and low bounce tracks.
I would rather play Naseem Shah and get whitewashed with young players who could learn a great deal from a very tough tour.
