Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and wife, Begum Kalsoom Nawaz Sharif celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary at her grandmother's house in Lahore on Sunday.

In a series of tweets by Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the daughter shared pictures of the anniversary celebrations and some unseen 'throwback' pictures of the couple from over the years.

According to Maryam, Sharif's siblings brought the cake for the anniversary.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was also present on the occasion.

Hearty congratulations to the couple on this lovely 2nd journey.

They need to go on a long honeymoon to Saudi Arabia or UK and take their kids with them.

Congratulations to the Sher and his wife.

No one is a sher after 46 years of marriage.

Once the shers of a jungle held a high-school reunion. They were all having a good time, congratulating each other on their various successes in their varied careers, when all of a sudden, a mouse saunters in.

"Who the hell let you in?" they all ask. The mouse calmly takes his seat at the table and says, "shaadi se pehley mein bhee sher thaa."

She looks older than 46 to me. :srt: sher nawaz should look after her sherni more.

Sherni reminds me of so many formidable aunties I have known down the years. I am like a mouse these days, if I see one even in the distance I will bolt for the nearest mousehole.

Congratulations of the handsome couple and may they enjoy many more years together.

I am a big admirer of Nawaz, he had the courage to come back and serve his country when he could have chosen a comfortable life abroad with no risk. His goal is the economic development of his country, and he is opposed by powerful forces who feel their hold on the country threatened (the Army, the ISI and the fundamentalists). Maybe his party steals some money (a pragmatist would say they steal less than others), but as long as the country develops 5% paid to the PML-N can be tolerated. Nawaz is by far better than the alternatives Zardari (Mr. 10%) and Imran Khan (drama queen).

unfortunately 5% doesnt work for him..its not only him but his entire party so risk is huge in having him as a PM>>

Agree, respect him the most. Unlike other rabble rousers and hate mongers in Pakistan, Nawaz Saab is extremely Pro India and Indo-Pak relations are likely to improve under him.

So stealing is justified. This without doubt has to be the most pathetic post on the forum since i have been on it. On the one hand he is praised for his courage and sacrifice and in the same paragraph he is praised for stealing from the poor. In a nutshell your post shows all the things wrong with Noora mentality.

The point is not that stealing is justified. The point is that given your current situation you do not have a better alternative than Nawaz. The others are bigger thieves. You oppose him, but if you replace him your country will slide backwards. Is that what you want?

If you had a saint who would also make development possible, but all means you should choose him over Nawaz. Do you have any such saint?

You don't need a "saint" to replace someone of Nawaz's calibre. Anyone less incompetent than him (which is not saying much) should fit the bill.

Also, where is your proof for the part in bold, as that's a rather grave allegation to make when one takes Sharif saab's not too "saintly" reputation into account.

The guy cant string a sentence together, has achieved nothing in 4 years and is a thief. If you think that is a progress, i feel sorry for you. Btw i posed this question to all the Nooras and as soon as i ask they run away, why has he not answered any questions on the Panama scandal? Has he held a single press conference or even answered in Parliament? Please enlighten me.

The dress changes in pictures tells a story about Pakistan also, i wonder.

Reaching quite a bit there aren't you. One is a picture from their youth while the others are when they are considerably older.

He is talking about NS brother AZ, a guy that NS has failed to prosecute and deliberately protects. If it isnt him, who is it?

The "mainstream" parties are PML and PPP. The leader of PPP is Zardari. It is generally agreed that he was a bigger thief, do you disagree?

The "alternative" party is TIP. There is a hint of desperation in those who believe in IK, the hope that he will be competent and honest. IK reminds me of Kejriwal, who also has a penchant for making dramatic statements, and whose supporters also were desperately looking for someone honest. Maybe IK will turn out to be both competent and honest, I am sure somewhere down the line he will get a chance to form a government. I hope he turns out to be better than Kejriwal.

The only stream that PPP is main in passes through Garhi Khuda Baksh (home of Bhutto). Expect PPP to win even fewer seats in 2018 than they did in 2013.

The 2018 elections will be pro-Nawaz or against-Nawaz and a big step in swaying the voters to the latter will be the judgement on the Panama case.

PPP is history and will not be leading Pakistan anytime soon, barring unforeseeably bizarre occurrences. Therefore, Zardari is highly irrelevant at this point.

No, there is hint of desperation from anyone that believes that NS has an iota of intelligence or competence. Building a road here and there is not a sign of progress, progress is when your education system is developed to serve the masses or you develop a health system where you as the leader dont have to spend 2 months abroad for a health check up when you lead a country of 200mn or when you start to export to the world etc. Only an idiot would compare the lettuce leaf that is NS with an honest, sincere leader like IK.

I think it's the calm before the storm. The celebrations before the tears, insha Allah!

If you support him for being pro India only from India's perspective then makes sense but please don't tell us he came back to serve his country when he could have enjoyed his looted wealth abroad.
If i use same analogy then Sonia Gandhi is most deserving PM candidate in India because her husband was assasinated and she joined politics purely to serve India. She deserves it even more considering other options are mass murderer like Modi who is a fanatic and appoints like minded people like Yogi as CM.

Now i know Indians will say Sonia/Rahul is worst thing that happened to India and they are corrupt, well guess what? This is what Nawaz Sharif and his family is and this is what Zardari and his gang is. They ALWAYS put their interest ahead of national interests. Imran Khan is not the best politician but he is far more honest, sincere, educated, competent than Nawaz Sharif.

Its your country and you and your countrymen get to choose your leader. My opinion is just an opinion. I hope you are able to find a leader who will bring peace and prosperity.
