Thread to keep track on how Pakistan is improving in all sports under PTI government including cricket.

Its too early but nothing to be seen till now.

P.S: @Abullah719 or some mod please change title to Sports' progress instead of improvement. Thanks!

Country is a mess, sports would be a very low priority.

That's why it needs to be assigned to a minister ,coz it would be that minister's priority and how he/she can bring in investment and help build institutions to 'enable' talent a phrase Imran has been harping about since becoming a Politician.

The entire country is in doldrums and sports no different. It's gonna take Imran khan and PTI a hell lot of efforts and dedication to ride country of its worst phase ever. I am hopeful things will improve gradually but for that to happen Imran khan needs all the support in the world from his people. Nothing happens over-night I am afraid.

If PTI can improve this in such a short span then that means there was mass corruption and nepotism that was keeping world class players from coming to the fore.

Otherwise, real world scenario, it will be atleast 5-10 years before all the major structural changes that are carried out now to bare fruit and you may see some result. There is no guarantee of success ....

Pakistan is hosting multiple international teams (U23) in cricket for Emerging Cup. I am sure most international teams would start coming to Pakistan soon.

For years Imran talked about the separation of PCB and State. He would say things like “tell me in which country does the president appoint the chairman of the cricket board”.?

Surely his first move therefore should be to end political interference in sporting bodies. Create a cricketing structure like they have in England, Australia etc.

Sport is a side track. We have many priorities to take care off.

There are so many issues. But government should be focussing on sports and sports facilities as well. We have a huge population of youth and we need to get them involved in sports

I think whatever reforms done in sports will only be visible 10-15 years down the line. The only thing we might see change now is reduced nepotism allowing the best talent to come through.

China and SBP sign MoU to strengthen sports ties this seems like a good step forward

How ever I also heard on the news the PSB will stop pensions to employees
