Internationally renowned stars Shaggy, Ali Zafar, Shehzad Roy and Fahad Mustafa have vowed to deliver a memorable spectacular at the opening ceremony of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017 edition that takes place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium tomorrow.

The four stars, Chairman PSL Najam Sethi and brand ambassador of the HBL PSL Ramiz Raja spoke to the media about the glittering ceremony that will kick start proceedings in the second edition of the tournament followed by the opening game between defending champions Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi.

Mr. Sethi thanked the four mega stars for their presence and promised a breath taking ceremony to launch the second edition of the HBL PSL.

“I want to retain an element of surprise before the opening ceremony, it should be an enthralling evening, I also welcome and thank the stars especially Shaggy who has flown down to Dubai for the event, Ali Zafar, Shehzad Roy and Fahad Mustafa will all be making a big contribution as we endeavour to deliver an enthralling success.”

Jamaican superstar Shaggy spoke about his association about the game of cricket as he expressed his excitement before his performance for the opening ceremony.

“It is great to be here and I look forward to performing at the ceremony, it should be an exciting affair and the Pakistan cricket fans will surely enjoy the spectacle. I have a long association with Chris Gayle while Courtney Walsh (Former West Indian Fast Bowler) was my neighbour in Jamaica.”

Ali Zafar and Fahad Mustafa, Shehzad Roy also expressed their excitement ahead of the ceremony which starts at 6:30 Dubai time tomorrow.

PSL Opening Ceremony

Last time, the host was an ABSOLUTE disaster.

The ceremony is today - but what are the timings? When it starts, let's discuss it here.

Read somewhere it's 3 pm PKT?
 
The launch time is 7:30 PKT.

Fahad Mustafa will host the ceremony, he's pretty good so hopefully no bloopers like last time.
 
Just excited to listen to some Shaggy. Hope he performs "It wasn't me" or "Boombastic". "In the summertime" has his best flow though. Last opening ceremony just dragged on for ages. Hope this is short and sweet

Ohh okay. Guess the website was bogus, claiming it'll start at 3PM. :usman

They could've gone with something better than Fahad, but he's still a huge upgrade over the last one.

hmmm nice! would be more entertaining if gayle ,sammy,pollard join shaggy on stage to do some dancing

Wonder if they won't learn from last year and end up going past the actual start time
 
Looking forward to an excellent opening ceremony.Fahad Mustafa is much better than the guy they had last time.Shaggy is also an excellent addition.
 
What is the point of Ceremony every time. Such a waste of money. Instead get around 3,000 people from pakistan fly them over to fill the stadium just like India did. What a waste of money, everyone knows PSL is here to stay.
 
1) Why copy the IPL and have an opening ceremony...it will never turn out well

2) If you are going to have an opening ceremony...honestly, Shaggy was the best they could do? Could they not find anyone more 'current'.

Last time was terrible. Really did not have to go through this again.
 
OMG I completely forgot that today is the first day of the tournament!!!!!

Having matches in UAE is completely killing our cricket. They could even have had the first match in Sharjah and still seen a full crowd.

There's an insane amount of traffic heading towards the stadium. This is probably why people are getting late and then there are parking issues near the stadium as well. The tickets are all sold out.

That's what they said last time as well, but the stands were still empty
 
Need more people in the stadium.

But Its still gonna be a great event i think. Looking forward to it with all excitement.

Last year same excuse was bandied about....

Guessing that a lot of 'free' or 'corporate' tickets are given out to people who don't really care if or when to turn up.

I like the opening ceremony. Done very well. Didn't catch it last year so no idea how that one was.
 
The lights are too dim to see the actual dances

Any live streaming link for Opening ceremony? I bought the season pass from cricketgateway but its not airing the openeing ceremony

They always say sold out, but the ground is empty. I think they sell it to corporations and people don't show up
