Pakistan Super League 2018 - Speed Watch

Hardus Viljoen 138.9 kph. The first time I am seeing him bowl.
I wish they showed the speeds more consistently.

Mohammad Sami's consistency is unbelievable. A huge loss due to the inept PCB.

who has bowled the quickest delivery till now in PSL 3 ?

Hard to keep track when the speed is only shown once every over or so.

Fastest today I think was Wahab at 148 kph.

Rahat was clocking 140 regularly. So was Jofra Archer on the few times they cared to show the speed.

Shaheen's fastest is 142. Which at 18 etc. is good heat. Maybe with a bit of work he'll be able to get it up to 145 and with that height and bounce that's good news.

Crazy, when you think he's let it go a bit with his physique as well.

I think he knows he will never play for Pakistan again, he knows he will play the PSL and a few T-20 leagues around the world regardless of whether he has a paunch or six pack so he has no real incentive to stay in tip top shape anymore.

Rahat was consistently around 137-140ks.Wahab has been fastest I think and he will remain fastest.

The list of Pakistani bowlers who have bowled over 140. Top 3 have clocked above 145

Wahab
Amir
Sami
Irfan
Shaheen
Rahat
Fahim
Rumman

The list of bowlers who haven't touched 140 but are regularly clocked above 135

Irfan Junior

The 128 to 135 range mostly

Umaid Asif
Sohail Tanvir
Junaid Khan

The remaining two bowlers who can clock above 140 and haven't played yet include

Usman Shinwari and Hasan Ali.

Unsure how quick Sohail Khan is in t20's but he's probably in the 128 to 135 range.

Rated, the veteran Mohammad Sami - great to see him still enjoying pace and bowling well.

Sami is an alien and generally keeps himself in good shape, has the perfect build for a quicky to and he's not so fragile physically but mentally it's a different story :yk

Irfan has been very impressive himself and he's no spring chicken either especially for a giant at 35-37 years of age

Sad to see no one in the 150s. Indians are lucky to have such young bowlers. I was hoping to find a new fast bowling talent in the PSL, who can bowl with serious speed.

Lol Indians just have Wahabs and Umesh Yadavs in the making

aussie speed guns

Going by interviews I’ve seen on social media Harris Rauf has impressed Bmac big time. One of the few potential 150 kph bowlers in Pakistan.

The speeds just arent shown often enough and the game I watched yesterday didn't even have a score/over/speed panel for the first 5 or 6 overs lol

They have to be more consistent with the broadcast.

Yes, there were major broadcast issues yesterday for the first ~13 overs of the game.

The speedguns are inconsistent always, they show 2-3 balls' speeds per over.

Above pic is useless. Bowlers bowl many variations these days in LO's. Should count seam up/stock ball speeds separately.

I was just about to post this. Lots of slower balls these days, cutters etc.

They should exclude those deliveries from such stats but hey, with the poor broadcast thus far, I'm surprised they could even work out the averages lol

Sameen Gul's spell in his first game in PSL 3: (Speeds not available for every ball)

136.1, 128, 130.5
134.3, 135.9 (wicket), 136.3
3rd - 135.4, 130.4, 129.7, 133.8
4th - 130.6, 133.2, 135.1, 130.8, 135.1 (yorker, final delivery)

Overall impressive performance. Good control of line and length and bowled at a decent pace.

Wahab and Sami are quickest, rest are all 130kph guys and some even slower

Speed without Wickets is utter useless. Pak has Wahab and India Varun as Speed Demons.. but what's the point.

By the way where is overhyped Salman Irshad?

Wahab is the highest wicket-taker in PSL. :wahab2

Salman Irshad has been on the bench, but he might play today.

Incorrect. Shinwari clocked 140+ quite a few times in his spell the other day. Fahim also regularly clocks 140+. So does Amir.

I can see that, still very low for T20 matches. Most ODIs have bowlers sustaining higher pace for 10 overs.

In T20s and specially on these pitches bowlers are resorting to one or two slower balls an over which is reducing the overall average bowling speeds. Sometimes it helps to actually watch matches rather than to follow scorecards. Nice try in trying to downplay Pakistani bowling.

I actually liked your post until this part. Stop being overly defensive.

Wahab has been the best fast bowler and he is also highest wicket taker in PSL.He has bowled fast too but due to slower balls his pace is not in 140s otherwise he has been bowling 140s consistently

This looks really sad. Are bowlers holding back for some reason?

Not really.

Average pace is generally reduced due to cutters, slower balls, etc. Generally only express pacers average 140kph+.

Amir and Wahab have bowled with good pace while Rahat has been a bit of a surprise, bowling better than expected.

Irfan's first spell is always sharp, he can still get it to 145k but struggles after that. Shinwari is not surprising since he's returning after a long injury lay-off. Still bowled well.

138 kph in his fourth over by Sohail Khan.

Can play another season or two of PSL.

Improved fitness.

142.9 kph by Irshad.

Fastest I have seen in PSL-3

Wahab 148 kph ... they did not show the speed of his delivery that took the stump out of ground on sarafarz, it looked menacing fast in 150-152 kph region.

Sami, 147 ( only 2 deliveries are being shown per over, his super over looked extremely fast in 92-93 mph region)

Amir, 147.6

Shaheen Shah 142

Irfan, 145

Irshad, 142.9

Mills, 149

Rahat Ali, 145

.... this is what we have seen, half of the speeds are not shown.

Irshad, Shaheen shah are two young exciting prospects.

They have a dysfunctional speed meter which is why they show a speed once every 2-3 overs if needs be.

So much for this that they can't even have a machine that shows every ball speed of every bowler who is bowling.

Wahab has been the best fast bowler and he is also highest wicket taker in PSL.He has bowled fast too but due to slower balls his pace is not in 140s otherwise he has been bowling 140s consistently

I think PCB need to stay smart and not draft him back into the national side. Same goes for Sami. These boys are not likely to do anything special at International level, although they have been outstanding in PSL so far

Sami is the fastest he has bowled few balls with 150kph clicks also his average speed is far high than others it's 142.7kph and slowest about 139kph and he's consistently bowling 90mph+....Speed Demon forever!

They only showed the speed a couple of time in Shaheen's first over, last ball was 144.2 kph.

Haven't had the luxury of watching PSL Live

Caught some highlights on YT.

Not just the moustache but He has improved his fitness. (Lost some weight and put on more lean muscle)

It would only take an Idiot to ignore him for atleast 2 formats.

No sane mind would look at his past 2 years ODI stats. Need to live in present.

These PSL Speed guns are 5 - 7 kph slower than what we witnessed in 2015 WC in Aus and boy 3 years older Wahab is bowling as quick as he did to Watson, Dhoni & Jadega in those WC 2015 matches.

Threatening Fast & Express are the words.

The full toss he bowled to Sarfraz was 149 clicks.

While others I saw were

150.2 , 150.8 & 150.9

Considering PSL speed guns this indeed is serious Pace.

I hope, wish & pray that He remains Fit.

Comeback is around the Corner.

Sami is exciting ! Loving his raw pace.

Living in the present would mean trying other non TTFs with potential. But yeah, sane minds in the PCB administration isn't one of our plus points so he will probably come back.

Sami is on the the purple juice which the Black Panther drinks :))

Mir Hamza speed watch - playing his first game in PSL 3, Quetta vs Lahore 3/14/2018
[speeds were only shown for certain deliveries]

1st over - 129.3, 127.5, 122.5, (4th ball wicket, Agha Salman bowled, no speed shown)

2nd - 125.4, 130.6, 121.9

3rd - 128.3

4th - 108.9

So who amongst Sohail Akhtar, Hammad Azam, Hussain Tallat, Amad Butt, Amir Yamin and Faheem Ashraf have bowled fastest delivery in PSL ?

Whose been fastest in terms of Average speed ?

Faheem Ashraf ?

Abdullah719

What have been Mohammad Sami's speeds in PSL ? ?

How often he touched 150 kph ?

Faheem Ashraf ?

Speaking from memory here so don't take my word for it...

Sohail Akhtar hasn't bowled.
Hammad Azam has only bowled a few overs, mid 120ks.
Hussain Talat low to mid 130ks with a few balls close to 140ks.
Amad Butt has just played one game, mostly mid 130ks.
Aamer Yamin only played first couple of games, don't remember his speeds.
Faheem Ashraf generally in the mid 130ks with a few balls in the low 140ks.

Faheem probably the fastest in terms of average speed.

As for Sami, I don't recall him touching 150ks. In fact, haven't seen anyone besides Wahab getting there. But Sami is hitting 145 quite often.

141kph Shinwari. Bowling really well today.

But but but Indian pacers are far better than Pakistani now :sree

I still maintain our worst bowler is better than India's best.

Amir
Hasan
Shinwari
Junaid

will be ATG bowlers in India.

In the death overs, these guys sometimes don't show the speeds at all  Wasting time showing other useless things like projected scores and what not.
