Pakistan is playing against a weaker Zimbabwe team.Still they are not giving full 10 overs to fahim. They neither give him chance to come up the order for a occasion.its not good.Fahim need exposure as a bowler in different situations and period of the match. It will give him very much confidence. He hasn't get the opportunity to show his batting capability in ODI. So his confidence is getting lower. When the team needs him to deliver he wouldn't be able to deliver because of lack of batting time in international level.
He needs a good knock to kickstrat his batting career in ODi and also gaining his confidence as a good allrounder who can have bigger role not only in bowling but also in batting.
The right time is now.He might struggle against bigger teams if he doesn't have the exposure and confidence .

He's a specialist no.8 batsman who bowls 6 overs. I've never seen a specialist part time bowler before.

It's not fair on him really. Batting below Shadab isn't right as Shadab while has a lot of batting talent isn't a proper bat. Fahim's expected to contribute more than Shadab with the bat as he can't fall back on being a full time bowler, yet bats below him.

All that happens really is we carry a player who's given no accountability as he has no chance to really perform anyway.

Zimbabwe or not, if this guy is in the team, he needs to be batting at 7, and bowling 10 overs usually. Show that he's more worth than just using a part timers to fill his overs (which I'm sure some of the part timers we have can bowl 5/6 good overs like Fahim used for), or actually adds some batting substance to our batting order rather than seemingly being part of the tail.

It's remarkable how much time you spend talking about a guy you dislike. :genius

Makes total sense lol. Usually people spend more time talking about the weakness in the team as they want the team to improve. Just annoys me to no end we have a specialist no.8 batsman part time bowler in our team. Maybe I am harsh on the guy, as OP said, it's not even his fault, it's management.

What?! That's news to me.

Shadab is a much better bat then Fahim. Heck, I'll go as far as saying, Pakistan isn't utilizing Shadabs batting talent properly. This guy can easily move up the batting order, maybe in place of Malik when he retires.

He can easily bowl full 10 overs. He keeps it tight and picks up a wicket or two.

After world cup, Shadab should move to number 4-5

Well sorry to break it to everyone *drum rolls* but Faheem is a proper bowler. *Ba dam tsssssss*. He was always a proper medium pace bowler and that will always be his primary role. The only thing is that he has some batting talent and can hit big especially against pace bowlers. This needs to be utlized but lately he hasnt got enough time in the middle to get the engine running. He has to smash from ball one which isnt ideal for someone just starting his career.

However to think of him as a proper allrounder similar to the likes of Lance Klusener will be kidding yourself. He doesnt have nearly enough talent in batting. A quick fire 30 off 15 balls is what should be his role. Not a 90 ball 100.

Shadab is already a better batsman than Shoaib Malik.

This experiment with Fahim should stop now.
He did not bat good to be playing as all rounder, not sure whats wrong Amir Yamin has done.He should be given chance now.and then decide in PSL, who has become better

I also think he should be promoted to play at No.7. He needs to be given the confidence to hit and play to his game.

I hope for the last 2 games him and shadab are played higher up the order.

He bowled well today, but kind of want to see him do it against better sides. In T20s too he's smashed the weaker sides largely.

His average now being 36 before is now looking a very respectable 22, which is a good thing.

17 July: OP says "Pakistan team management isn't making proper use of Faheem Ashraf"

18 July: Faheem takes five-for

Please write more threads like this during the World Cup. :genius

LOL you call 22 average respectable?:yk2

His not a bad bowler. If he can add a few kph, he can make the team solely on his bowling.
