Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Wednesday that Pakistan has decided to take the matter of India’s annexation of Kashmir to the United Nations.

Pakistan will observe August 15 as a ‘black day’, Qureshi told parliament on Wednesday. The foreign minister also informed the house of the decisions taken in the meeting of the National Security Committee.

Earlier, the NSC decided to downgrade diplomatic relations with India and suspend bilateral trade between the two countries.

India, earlier this week, repealed articles 370 and 35A of its constitution, revoking autonomous status of Indian-administered Kashmir. Article 370 granted special autonomy to Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. It allowed the state’s assembly to make its own constitution and gave it autonomous state power.

Article 35A allowed the Jammu and Kashmir State Assembly to define who is and isn’t a permanent resident of the state. It also allowed the assembly to determine who gets state grants, who has the right to purchase land and property and who can permanently settle in the region.

Qureshi said that India wants to divert the world’s attention from its atrocities in Kashmir. However, he said that even the Indians are now criticising India’s “illegal” move in Kashmir.

History will prove India’s decision wrong, Qureshi said, adding that Modi’s decision had brought Hurriyat and other Kashmiri leaders on the same page.

“I challenge India to lift the curfew in the valley if the situation is under control,” the foreign minister said.

He urged the opposition leaders to set aside their differences and fight Kashmir’s case on every forum.

So all token gestures to satisfy their supporters that we are against the move taken by India. Nothing concrete.

No need to do anything concrete. mujhadeens would do that in the coming weeks InshAllah.

And when these mujhadeens fall dead it will be time for a lot of chest beating on this forum from sympathizers of 'non state' actors who will keep whining that security forces are killing innocents.

So what are these new set of terrorists going to achieve for Pakistan that the terrorists before them did not achieve in 70 years?

Look mate, Kashmiris and Palestinians are born to die. That is the unfortunate reality. Both are living under oppression by occupying forces.

Therefore nothing gives them more joy then an act of vengenace, to make the oppressors feel how they feel or worse.

Let us compare the 2 scenarios:

Kashmiri Parents

Child is born. Everyday they live in fear that he may lose his life. He is unlikely to get good education and he would be lucky to make it alive to his 10 - 15 or 18th birthday. Even luckier if he is isn't turned blind by a rubber bullet or loses a limb or two at the hands of the occupying army.

Eventually, when the sad day comes and the child is either missing or dies, the parents have sabr, they know deep in their hearts that ther child was living on borrowed time from the day he was born.

Indian Parents

child is born. Big celebrations (most upper-class families only have 1 due to high stress levels leading to impotency in Indian men). That child is pampered and given quality education. The whole family loves him.

Each birthday is celebrated extravigantly. He passes his exams - goes to college - wants to be doctor, engineer etc. great ambition and then BOOM! all gone in the blink of an eye. (along with a couple of his mates with similar back stories)

You don't have to be a genius to know who suffers more in the above two scenario.

Kashmiris are fighting for a cause. Every person who dies has died for a cause and is Shaheed whereas your have died a pointless and needless death.

Well articulated. You have a nice imagination. Have you ever considered writing for the film industry in Pakistan?
