Pakistan was ranked #8 when they qualified for this tournament in 2015. They are ranked #8 now and defeated rank #1, #4, #6 teams. Shows a lot how the ranking system works.
Personally i would say not to select CT and WC teams based on rankings. Have 12 teams in total so there is an equal shot of winning for everyone.
