Pakistan T20I side to tour Sri Lanka for three-match series

Lahore, 2 December 2025:

Pakistan men’s T20I squad will travel to Sri Lanka next month to feature in a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka as part of their preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

All three matches will be played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium (RDICS) in Dambulla on 7, 9 and 11 January.

The tour will provide the side with valuable match practice ahead of next year’s global event. Pakistan are placed in Group ‘A’ for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 and will play all their fixtures in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The mega event is scheduled to run from 7 February to 8 March.

Hopefully they let them play the leagues and trial some new players instead. It will be good for them to get a few games without the shadow of seniors looking over them.

Sri Lanka were too good for Pakistan on a good batting track. Pakistan won’t chase anything over 180 batting second, and Pakistan don’t have a clue on how to set a big total batting first.

I don't think ilt20 and bpl has any value in PCB eyes....players always returns from these types of leagues...otherwise only agha salman will be remain because all other players are on leagues...

Haris isn't a huge match-winner, but he is needed as he does give sporadic good performances.

Shadab coming back will only disturb the combination, and Babar is the only one that should make way for him. Anyone else, and it will be really unfair.

Barring the final, he was more than decent in the Asia Cup. Those games were played on similar pitches as Sri Lanka.

He is terrible in pressure situations, but we need to have someone with his wicket-taking ability as an alternative. Unfortunately, Wasim jnr and Salman Mirza have not been able to create similar impact.
