For the T20I series, Zimbabwe have retained the squad that achieved historic success at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 sub-regional qualifier in Kenya last month. Led by captain Sikandar Raza, the squad’s impressive chemistry and momentum are expected to serve them well against Pakistan. Notably, Ervine, Williams and Joylord Gumbie have been omitted from the T20I roster.

“We felt it was essential to maintain the same T20I squad that excelled in Kenya,” Mutendera explained. “This continuity allows the team to build on the cohesion and confidence that drove their outstanding performance.” Reflecting on the significance of the series, Mutendera said: “Facing a high-calibre side like Pakistan is a tremendous opportunity for us to gauge our progress and showcase Zimbabwe’s potential on the international stage. “We are confident that both our ODI and T20I squads will be competitive.”

ZIMBABWE ODI SQUAD:

Craig Ervine (captain), Faraz Akram, Brian Bennett, Joylord Gumbie, Trevor Gwandu, Clive Madande, Tinotenda Maposa, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Brandon Mavuta, Tashinga Musekiwa, Blessing Muzarabani, Dion Myers, Richard Ngarava, Sikandar Raza, Sean Williams

Where is Mutumbami ?

In order to build for the 26 t20 WC (if we even play it). I think we should try the following lineup.

1) Usman Khan (his best innings in the PSL have coming at 1,2 or 3). Just give him a run here.

2) Saim Ayub. Yes his record is not great but he is a game changer and can bowl too.
3) Rizwan (capt and wk)
4) Omair Bin Yusuf
5) Qasim Akram
6) Irfan Khan
7) Arafat Minhas
8) Jahandad
9)Shaheen
10) Sufyan
11) Haris

Qasim Akram is poor against pace and spin. Usman Khan deserves more chances but he will clearly struggle at international level due to his awful technique. Shaheen should be dropped for good along with Rizwan. Sufiyan is also quite average I would have shadab instead of him. The rest I agree with.

Looking forward to a competitive series, gonna be a tough ask but Pakistan may have a chance of winning.

Saim Ayub, Rizwan and Shaheen aren't in the squad.

Just lose the series respectfully if you perform the name Zimb will get attached to you.

Zimbabwe often shock visiting teams (won a game against India too). They are not bad at home.

Pakistan should try to dominate all games to get that winning momentum going.

With what team? The current squads sent are weak as heck

If Pakistan play properly, they should win all 6 games.

I don't see Zimbabwe winning more than 1 game maximum.
Mate our team sucks. Odi series was only won due to rauf and saim ayub brilliance. However rauf is a brainless run machine. He's wicket taking yes but now that he's lost his aussie bouncy pitches, he won't be as effective In this series.

The likes of Dhani and Ahmed daniyal wouldn't even make it to Zimbabwe's c team lol.

Saud Shakeel, Fakhar, Omair and a few other gems should have been here. And ik people have reservations about Usman Khan, but he should have played Zimbabwe odi series.

For a Bangladesh cricket fan, you have a weird obsession with Pakistan team.

I support Pakistan and Afghanistan along with all other Muslim-majority states in sports and everything else.

I also support Aussies for purely cricketing reason.

When it comes to cricket, I am not a blind nationalist. I just love good cricket. I have also played cricket in Canadian domestic league.

Did you also support Hashim Amla and Moeen Ali while they played for South Africa and England and hoped South Africa and England lose but Amla and Moeen perform well so that their averages aren't disturbed?

I’m not too concerned about getting a win right now. The priority is making sure these youngsters get some proper game time to build their confidence and gain experience at this level. At the same time, it’s a great opportunity to identify two or three promising players who could really add value to the team moving forward.

Pakistan should have rested rizwan as well form ODis. No point for him playing

Fakhar should be called back and keep Saim there for T20s as well.

If they didn't then rizzu's avg would decrease below 40.

Babar and rizwan have been on a downward spiral since 2022 and everyone else just thought I was a lunatic for pointing it out.

Rizzu's purple patch ended in 2021. It lasted only a year as he was new. Now every opposition has figured him out in the same way every opposition has figured abrar and bobby out.

Babar's avg at peak use to be 48 in test, 60 in odi and and 51 in t20. Now his avg is 43 in tests, 55 in odi and 40 in t20.

Similarly rizzu's avg use to be 49 and 129 sr in t20 but has fallen to 45 and sr 125. He's lucky his avg In odi and Tests remains unaffected for now.
