lolz carbon copy of seniors.
Our seniors are far better than these jokers. There is not a single power hitter in the team. Only potential players are Haider, Rohail and Taha. Most probably 1 can make it to Int team.

lolz carbon copy of seniors.
How did a player as bad as Qasim Akram get selected? He almost single handedly brought the innings to a standstill. Not a lot of talent coming through the ranks it seems.
Does anyone know who is the selector?
This team was selected by Basit Ali.
What a bunch of jokers. They needed 80 off 20 and had 8 wickets left and still lost. Lol.
80 off 20 or 20 off 80?!!
80 off 20 or 20 off 80?!!
I watched Pak bowling and batting of top 4. They were clearly better than SL. A stupid run-out by captain was the main reason I believe. He is such s poor runner. He hit’s the ball and starts running right away without looking where the ball went. After running out Haidar Ali he was about to run out Taha as well but he clearly told the captain the run was never there. Eventually captain was run out himself.
I hope and and think Pakistan will bounce back. And remember Pakistan dropped many dollies and SL stopped at least 20-30 runs in the field. So if they can finetune their fielding they will be fine.

80 off 20 overs.

Pakistan Cricket is finished.
Really alarming sign - at every age level cricket PAK juniors seem to be a replica of senior team.
Also, what little I have seen, there is nothing eye catching among juniors - no batsman with exiting shot making ability or solid technique, not much in pace bowling either (even this game, Lankan opener’s put 120+ against new ball!!!) and absolutely no genuine spinners.
This is keeping in mind SRL also declined considerably in junior cricket, I was expecting PAK juniors to dominate the series; but losing like 8/50 chasing 235 doesn’t give confidence. There is a change required for sure, but I am afraid PCB (and many posters here) are not ready to accept the first bitter pill - “things are not happening and there is a change required”.
Pakistan Cricket is finished.
These are the end days before it's finished for good.
You are correct about Pakistan playing qualifiers for 2023 World Cup, such a fall from grace. Pathetic, our seniors and the ones in charge of Pakistan Cricket are to blame.
It's the sad truth.
Another aspect we need to work on is the mental toughness of a player. I'm sorry but the current cricketer in Pakistan is possibly the most insecure one in the cricketing world. There is no self confidence in these players, and they disintegrate completely at the first sign of pressure. Whichever level you are talking about, it's as if these lads are in awe of whoever is their opponent and forget their basic skill-sets. Low self-esteem leads to bad decisions under duress, which is a trait that filters from the senior team right through to the junior team. It's futile hiring a psychologist to work on the fifteen in the national team squad, as these insecurities are a habit for them. We should definitely have a therapist at junior levels; someone kids could go to when they are going through bad form or a tough phase in life in general. It doesn't take long for an U turn if the root cause is analyzed properly and adequate actions are taken. It's a 23 crore cricket mad populated country and we have to say Cricket is the easiest game to reach among top 4-5 teams, because it's seriously played by at most 10-12 teams and half of them still don't have proper infrastructure, system, neither fund.
I have been following PAK cricket from kid age because my mom was a big fan of PAK cricket (Daughter of a civil servant, born in Karachi, schooled in Karachi & Pindi) - her favorite 3 players were Imran, Mazid & Sir Gary - the biggest problem I see in PAK cricket is that after 70+ years, still the Nation as a whole is absolute delusional regarding their cricket (Not Imran, he mentioned it many times). The general myth in PAK cricket is that PAK players (People) are born talented, and it's the natural skills that took the team to that level of 1970s to 1990s (& 1950s as well).
This is absolute bull sh!t and as long as this understanding is there, it'll be free fall further from past glory. First thing, as a cricket Nation, PAK has to accept that their players are not something born as special, just like average people from another countries. Cricket is popular among mass people, so obviously there will be many kids around playing cricket, whose natural attributes (reflex, eye sight, balance, coordination between limbs ....... these are basic requirement for every skill based sports) compliment cricket. That's common for every race or nation - from Uganda to Bangladesh to Germany. It's not natural talent rather the systematic British-Indian Domestic cricket that produced the golden generation on 1950s .... then the doomsday of 1960s and again 3 decades of glory - entirely groomed, nurtured and developed by English County system.
So, first realization should be that the glory of PAK cricket is almost on borrowed money - the bitter truth is SRL has produced far, far better cricketers from their own resources and their success in cricket is their self developed. None of the SRL top cricketers ever played in County before turning 25, when they were accomplished finished goods - and they have won a WC, CT, T20 WC; made Finals of 2 other ODI & T20 WCs, have beaten SAF, ENG, NZ in away Test series (& everyone at home), through players entirely developed, groomed through their own system in last 35 years. That should be a reality check for many in PAK ......
Wasim Khan is a fantastic resource - over the last 5-6 years, I have irritated many posters here writing essays on PAK cricket - how it should be revamped, AND to my astonishment his BBC interview covered almost every point that I thought of myself to be implemented .... even that English learning as well!!! Must admit, it gave me lots of self satisfaction, I must say - as an amateur enthusiast of this sports, I do spend lots of time on the management side of this game and it was quite satisfactory for me to read from a top pro about visions that I had thought of since long back. Three tier cricket system with a 2nd XI in top tier, central contract at FC level, junior cricket, educational institution based cricket; lengthy FC season (Game), diversified & quality wickets that asks bowlers to bend back or flight it and batsmen to focus forr may be 2 days, home & away culture, fixed domestic calendar, genuine age based skill development programs, even learning English ..... these are fundamentals of developing cricket (any sports).
Cricket is like a craft - you can't improve it over night, rather it's a slow developing skill based game. It's not like soccer or basketball that physically fit and gifted 35 young players can be trained into a decent team over 3-4 years. It's easy to close gap in cricket, much easier in shorter format, which you can see in AFGs, but that highest level of skill development needs long time, longest than any other sports. It took India half a century to produce proper fast bowlers with their system & resources and Bangladesh is still struggling to break one more barrier despite being the most passionate nation for the sports, and it's one of the fastest growing country in world in other aspects - Cricket is that tough.
PAK has the first base covered - almost a century old heritage and tradition of cricket, and a glorious past (& role models) for youngsters to motivate themselves. If this guy Wasim Khan is allowed to implement his thoughts and establish a proper system, absolutely no reason why it can't happen again. But yes, at current state of affairs, it's really looking dark at the other end of tunnel.

There is no self confidence in these players, and they disintegrate completely at the first sign of pressure. International cricket is 80% mental and 20% technical, as pretty much every first-class level cricketer has raw natural ability in every country. Pakistani cricketers are severely lacking in that 80% mental aspect, and continue to regress rather than improve as cricketers. We will continue to produce these insecure cricketers until and unless we tackle this issue at the grass roots.
I think it's a lot to do with our culture aswell, where coming forward with mental issues leads to ridicule. The top teams have systems in place to deal with players at an individual level. Give the individual basic plans at a young age, and nurture the talent once it's identified. In Pakistan, talented individuals are treated as bher bakri, and you either need very strong connections to make it through to the top level or immense talent which is truly hard to ignore. Until and unless this corrupt culture changes, and even young players are treated as valuable assets, things will continue to worsen.Developing mental toughness is also part of developing process - human isn't born mentally tough. There are four prime reasons for PAK players to feel insecure & panicked under pressure.
PAK players play lots of soft games in domestics and worse part is at National level plays even more soft games, with selectors picking best possible XI in almost every game. Today, if PAK plays with say Scotland, there is a big skill gap (still) - add to that players' experience of 10-12 years International cricket, Scots are absolutely no match - PAK might lose odd game against them, but even 50 such games won't ever stress players mentally. So, what do you do - you can't pick best players and ask them performing at highest level against sub-standard players (it doesn't happen like that - human mind is built like a counter punching machine, it doesn't turn on unless challenged) - best thing is to do that you pick potential but inexperienced players .... these players will be skill wise still better than Scots (no insult), but at per in experience - they'll struggle at times, but they'll learn to cope with pressure as well. That ZIM series (2015) comes to mind when after 2-0 lead, PCB played best XI in 3rd game as well (and, still could have lost that game!!!). This won't help developing mental toughness at all.
Second problem, is something I explained many times in past - PAK picks too many bits & pieces players for a combination. Players who don't have a core skill, rather picked for a bit of contribution in every "facet". These type of players are jack of all trades, master of none, hence often under crunch moments, they don't have any base to bank on. Players like Hafeez, Malik, Shadab, Faheem, Imad, Sarfraz ... are not good enough in their core skills, rather they are good contributors - against weaker teams these players will do brilliantly, simple reason is their bits & pieces skills are better than core skills of opponents - or other way Faheem is a better fast bowler than most of ZIM's specialist pacers, Hafeez is better bowler or batsman than most Irish players, Malik can be AFGs historical best batsman, Sarfraz will be Javed against Scots ......, but these players won't sustain pressure at higher level. One glaring eye opener I can give from recent days - every criticism intact, PAK's top 4 are putting runs, lots of it; because these are specialist batsmen, picked for scoring runs; they know how to build an innings and bat under different condition. Put, MoHa, Imad, Asif & Malik at 1-2-3-4, you'll have to play lot against ZIM reserves to keep them in place .....
This one I can't prove, but I know - PAK top players play a lot of illegal/corrupt games at club level, which are fixed and PCB knows that. This doesn't help players at all, because compromise is a chronic decease - you do it in Ramadan cup, it'll become your second nature. PCB is not only the most arrogant and incompetent board around, it's the most corrupt as well - do you think, PCB can't stop top PAK players playing in those privately owned dirty leagues? These Ramadan Cup, academy cup, this cup, that cup, Hong Kong Sixers ........ most of which are rich man's pleasure toys and they don't pay enough for sure that PAK's World Cup back-ups will be queuing to play there. It's because of the kick-back money PCB officials receive from such organizers (& players), that they don't block players from wasting time & indulge in dirty business - rather encourage them. Unless this stops, at every level PAK will fail to chase 50/50 games most often. Over a full season, top players will play 15-16 FC games and similar numbers of List A games against equal opponents in domestics - rest period, they'll train & practice at academies or with their personal trainers. Even paying 35 players extra for 6 months at $2500/month to keep them away from dirty cricket, is like $ half a million for a Board like PCB with close to $100mn+ annual turnover .... even PCB chairman spends more than that for his (& families) foreign trips - so, spending money isn't the issue here, kick-back money is the issue.
Last but not the least, there is a massive incompetence, nepotism and dishonesty in selection process, which at times is punishable corruption - this doesn't make players confident at all (or other way, makes few players complacent that their spot is fixed regardless of whatever - they won't sustain pressure when chips are down). This one is quick fix - kick the corrupt souls out of selection process and make CS report to Coach/Captain .... he'll chase players to keep his job, rather than players chasing him for a little favor.
Fix these 4 areas - PAK players will be mentally among toughest in world. The guy who hit a last ball SIX to beat arch rivals or the young man who could smash 80 in 7 overs with 3 tail-enders silencing 100,000 roaring Eden crowd, wasn't born with a different DNA code ...............
There's just too much wrong with the kids coming up right now. Technically and mentally, they are handicapped due to one reason or the other. By the time they get to international level, it's just too late to change so much without destroying the natural ability of that player.
U-16 captain ayub is a horrible batsman
Rohail is a rubbih captain and brainless batsman. Should nowhere near n our even A team. Saim Ayub doesn't have any power. Even Imam looks far better than this hack.
Only potential players in the team so far I have seen are Haider and Taha. But they themselves need huge work on their batting and fitness.
Saim Ayub really looked like a good talent few years ago, I have watched him hit big sixes but he has disappointed big time in the first 2 ODI here. Has played some lovely cover drives but then got out at wrong time.
Saim Ayub is one of rubbish batsman U have ever seen. Doesn't have any shot range. His batting style suit only indoor net practice.

Junaid 8 of 26!!!! What a rubbish a batsman can be
Junaid has lost us another game!!!! Wasted too many balls and got out on slog. This guy must have a good connection to be selected.
As I told you, calm down. You scream too much!
Guess what!? PAKISTAN WON!
It was lucky win bro!!!!!
Hope we will have a new selector who can select better players.
How long do you expect yourself to last in a selector's job?It was lucky win bro!!!!!
Hope we will have a new selector who can select better players.
I think, this is quite a successful tour for PAK. U19 tours/tournaments are for finding new players - even if one player from every series can make it to National team, it's a success. I think, after WC Sarfraz's bad days will come and he won't get that sort of protection - Ruhail is almost ready to be in squad.
Blunder will be to replace Sarfraz with Rizwan and allow Ruhail to rot for another 10 years.
So i guess you are impressed by Ruhail?
