I was a toddler in the 90s. First Indo-Pak i fully remember was WC 2003. And since then you have been superior.

I seriously started around 1998.

1996-97 was a bit blurry.

Sharjah was a nightmare.

Still remember.

You guys would bat first. Anwar would torture our trundlers and spinners.

You would post 250-300. Sometimes 230.

When we would bat, Wasim, Waqar and Akhtar would bowl. Followed by Azhar Mahmood and Saqlain.

Our batsman would keep trying to smash the ball but it won't pass the inner circle.

You guys would eventually get our top and middle order out.

90-100 for 5.

And then Ajay Jadeja or Robin Singh or someone would play some innings and slowly drag the match to its inevitable end.

Always phainty.

I hope against the hope that the usual collapse doesn't await us here ...

Haha same here. Started watching since 1996 WC. We beat Pakistan and I thought we were the best cricket team. Then reality striked and we lost all matcheds to everyone everywhere :msd

We were like a minnow then. Started following once again when Dada came to the fore and lead us to one after the other overseas test wins :)

Another 40-50 runs from this pair should hopefully see us through ...

Pak need 97 from 120 balls
Possible with 7 wickets in hand unless they don't panic and collapse

The first Pakistan match I remember is the world Cup final 1999
Anwar scored 15 out of 115

How bad were India in the 90s. Would you say your team was better than ours now.

Itna bhi nhi tha bhai .. Pakistan won 26 matches in 90s, we won 17. :sachin

Actually we were very good against you guys in neutral territories especially in WC but in Sharjah, we were your punching bag :D

Most memorable series for me in the 90's was in Toronto. We lost 1-4 or something against you guys then next year won 4-1. Gangulywas the man of the series. Best Bowler, best batsman and best fielder lol

Rotating the strike is vital. Knocking the ball around for singles and twos should do it and the odd boundary on a loose ball but they seem to be self building pressure by playing too many dots which will get to them later.

PB - The overall record in the 90's between India Pakistan doesn't look too bad. Pak won 26 games and India won 17. But watching games would tell you how superior Pak were.

http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/en...eam=7;template=results;type=team;view=results

Just like after 2004, Pak holds a 20-20 record against us but we have been clearly much better. But the gap was much bigger in the 90's of course.

Stats don't do full justice.

Six and a four, and people start jumping. Huh. It's not even half done.

Maqsood classy acceleration just like that. He kept his wits about him. If Umar had been bogged down like that. He would have had a brainfade and thrown his wicket away

Maqsood would have been wonderful for the first two matches but past is past. Lets see if he can prove a point to everyone today for keeping him out

I don't know about others, to me Aamir Sohail is miles ahead of Ramiz when it comes to a sensible commentary. Ramiz is just a show boy for me ...

Agree Amir Sohail is the best commentator we have in Pakistan. He is emotional & unlike Rameez he doesn't kiss other commentators. Miss his commentary and analysis a very sensible guy.

Another example of nice little 30s wont help the team.

Lol. again, ball hits cap, second time aussies have had an infraction with a cap, and no penalty given.....

Mamoon the love of your life is here. Hope he does well.

He's done an Akmal. Is susceptible to the short ball. The whole world is aware. Will take him over fawad any day though

That is why people have problem with Aamir Sohails. He just speaks from the heart and people have problem digesting it.

Umar pretty face in....i expect few short deliveries to him from fast bowlers.

What a mighty average of 19.63 :14: clearly the talent of the century for Pakistan. Mamoon lets see what your boy does here
