ODI series in the bag but can Pakistan end the series on a winning note?

What would be your playing XI for this game?

Why is it 3 days away. Should have been tomorrow and that would have concluded the tour.

Would be interesting to see how the crowd comes given the Ramzan has started

It would be embarassing to see our A side trotted out for this game. Some experimentation against this weakened Aussie team in our best format would be welcome.

I would like to rest Rizwan and Shaheen as Shadab and Nawaz are already unfit... I would have played with,

Fakhar
Haris
Babar
Haider
Asif
Khushdil
Asif Afridi
M. Wasim
Zahid
Rauf
Dahani

I will play this team

Babar
Rizwan
Fakhar
Haris
Iftikhar
Khushdil
Shadab
Asif Afridi
Wasim Jnr/Dahani
Shaheen
Rauf

Please no. He’s turned into a complete brainless tape ball hack due to this t20 rubbish. The further away he is from this rubbish the better it is for him.

Haider has played match winning knocks in both the Bangladesh and Windies series

1. Fakhar Zaman
2. M Rizwan(wk)
3. Haider Ali
4. M Harris
5. Shahdab Khan(C)
6. Khusdil Shah
7. M Nawaz
8. M Waseem
9. Haris Rauf
10. Usman Qadir
11. Shahnawaz Dahani

I want Pakistan to play this game, no need for Babar to play in this meaningless T20 alongwith Shaheen.

Pakistan play a full strength squad against Zimbabwe. It will be unlikely to see anyone new given a chance.

After seeing Babar finally coming out of shell and hoping to continue, it might be an easy win for Pak. I also hope that Fakhar will open with either Haris or some new T20 talent. We definitely need Babar to come down in the order.

People keep mentioning haris i dont see any potential there. I want him to do well but he just played few good innings in psl that was it

If Shadab back should be drafted in. Also would like to see Dahani given a go.

Babar
Rizwan
Fakhar
Malik
Ifitkhar
Kushdil Ali
Asif Ali
Shadab
Waseem
Shaheen
Rauf
Dahani

One heck of a team and should be tough to beat. 4 out and out pacers. It’s the only T20 so should go for it.

Pretty sure Mailk isn't in the squad and nor should he be.

This is assuming Shadab and Nawaz are both unfit. If Shadab is healthy, then we would see either Khushdil or Haider out but Haider been playing T20's regularly last couple of series vs WI & Bangladesh.

New Zealand legend Daniel Vettori (Australia's spin consultant) reflects on his first tour to Pakistan in 18 years, the 2002 Pak-NZ Test at GSL and the takeaways from the ongoing tour.

Australian coach Andrew McDonald :

"I am very happy to come to Pakistan after a long time and this tour has been extremely good in all regards. The Pakistan supporters have welcomed us with open arms"

"I am very happy to win the Test series against Pakistan as it is not easy to defeat them in their own conditions."

"Pakistan played excellent cricket in the ODI series and Babar Azam is undoubtedly a world-class batsman"

LAHORE, Pakistan, April 4 (Reuters) - Australia's interim coach, Andrew McDonald, has held discussions with Cricket Australia (CA) about a full-time role but has little clarity about what the job entails, the 40-year-old said on Monday.

McDonald was put in charge ahead of the team's Pakistan tour after Justin Langer left the job in February, rejecting a short-term extension.

The CA believes coaching across formats can be taxing for one individual and is open to splitting the role.

"The congested test series didn't allow that," McDonald told a news conference in Lahore, referring to talks with CA. "But with a few more gaps in this one-day series, I've had the opportunity."

"Whether that becomes a follow-up conversation we'll wait and see ... Within the chats, there was no great detail or clarity on what the role would look like."

On their first tour of Pakistan in 24 years, Australia won the test series 1-0 but their hosts prevailed in the one-dayers.

T20 lets make it memorable mickey mouse boundaries hopefully its 250 vs 250

Hope Pakistan will test some of the bench strength out, i..e Harris , Dahani , Haider etc , but the way we have been approaching cricket recently probably go with an unchanged XI from the ODI team.

Time for Rizwan to score a pointless 65 of 44 balls and his fans to remind us how he is the greatest T20 opener in the history of cricket

Rizwan has been solid as an opener for Pakistan. What are you talking about ? Do you suggest an alternative?

As a Pakistan fan you should be happy if Pakistan wins.

"Its been enjoyable; It's been a long time since the New Zealand and Australia teams have been here, so to get a chance to come over here and experience Pakistan cricket again has been fantastic; I think the memories of these grounds as to how impressive they are has been one of the best bits"

"I think this gives a chance to players and staff to relay their experiences, and they will obviously go back to Australia but for myself talking to New Zealand guys - they will get an appreciation of how much the players have enjoyed the tour and how safe they've felt so this is a stepping stone for more and more teams coming back"

Would you prefer a failure instead so you can jump around and say i told you so? i hope a few of our batsmen make these pointless scores so we can win the game which is the most important thing.

Isn’t that what those who support Rizwan do if those who threaten his spot do well for their teams?

Rizwans done well in t20is so deserves to carry on as opener, he has done poorly in ODI ,and many of his fans have acknowledged that from what i have seen on here.

I have never seen a Rizwan fan call for pakistan to lose like i have seen with "fans" of other players, just so they can prove a point.

This would be mine team against Australia but I could see the management continuing with the Babar-Rizwan opening combo. But due to the next T20WC being held in Australia, 180-190 scores won't be enough. Might as well prepare with Fakhar+Rizwan opening combo now.

Saqlain must do something about his fitness. To me this is the biggest issue I have with him. Arthur wasnt fit either but regardless for someone who is like 47 years old and was an athlete - this is appalling.

He certainly looks obese but it could be a medical issue, who knows.

He's fully embraced the uncle lifestyle and theres no going back. Im sure he was on camera cutting his nails during one of the ODIs.

But I suppose that as long as the team remains fit it doesn't matter how much of a belly he has

That's what I have been saying , he does not look like a coach, not even of a school team, unbelievable .

You cannot be a chain smoker and preach the kids not to smoke, similarly , Saqlain should be last person to talk about physical fitness of the team, ridiculous.

He doesn’t realise that Rizwan is the highest scoring in T20’s last year and has played exceptionally well.

He thinks Sharjeel and Umar Akmal should be in his place.

Did Mickey Arthur, Bob Woolmer, Keith Fletcher look like coaches? PP need anything to moan about, as Pakistan team is performing quite good they cannot find anything to cry about.

Which is perfectly fine. I'm guessing it took a fair bit of work and discipline to become the greatest offspinner in the world during his era and Pakistan's best spinner of all time. He can put his feet up and grow his belly all he wants now.

Ridiculous take. You don't pay attention to elite sport if you think managers/coaches need to be anywhere near close the levels they demand of their players to be successful, it's completely irrelevant and a total non-issue.

The coaches coach, the players play. If the coach could do what the player has to, he wouldn't be the coach. No need to find meaningless things to moan about.
