Ok so we lead 2-1 and given what happened when we bowled first, this could easily become an embarrassing 2-2 situation.

Clearly something went wrong and some changes need to be made to the side.

Ihsanullah could well be that one change, and bring in Mohammad Haris but who will he replace?

Some advice from Kamran Akmal:

"Pakistan needs to stop experimenting and take this defeat seriously. Blunders and half-witted decisions won't lead us to victory, and it's time for the team management to re-evaluate their strategy,"

"Iftikhar won't bat like this every day - he has got a permanent number and position - send him on that."

"If it was their A team, they might have won 3-0. Pakistan needs to reconsider their decisions and stop frequently changing the batsmen's positions,"

April 18 (Reuters) - New Zealand eked out a thrilling four-run victory in the third Twenty20 International against Pakistan in Lahore to stay alive in the series and all-rounder Daryl Mitchell said the win would give them confidence for the last two matches in Rawalpindi.

New Zealand are without regular skipper Kane Williamson, who is set to miss the 50-overs World Cup in India later this year with a knee injury, while several others are playing in the Indian Premier League.

Staring at a series defeat after back-to-back losses, the touring side put up a competitive 163-5 at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium on Monday on the back of Tom Latham's 49-ball 64.

Pakistan slumped to 88-7 in reply but Iftikhar Ahmed's 24-ball 60 injected drama into the contest.

Pakistan needed five runs off the last three balls but Jimmy Neesham removed Iftikhar, followed that with a dot ball, and then dismissed Haris Rauf to thwart the hosts.

"It was obviously a hell of a game of cricket and awesome for the boys to get across the line," Mitchell, who made 33, said on Tuesday.

"It gives the guys a lot of confidence heading into the rest of the series and you never know what will happen over the next few games."

Mitchell was proud how New Zealand had fought their way back into the series but said they would need to adapt quickly in Rawalpindi, which hosts the last two matches on Thursday and next Monday.

"It's obviously a new ground, a new challenge and a new surface. So we'll be pretty clear on how we want to play on that surface.

"We'll adapt as quickly as we can. Hopefully we win a few little moments and we'll see what happens."

So keen to see HIS - Haris, Ihsanullah, Shaheen.

I hope keeping Ihsanullah on the bench has made him hungrier than ever to avenge his non-selection.

Not sure how Mohammad Haris fits into this XI now that Ifti and Faheem have scored runs.

Babar needs to realise the importance of picking specialists over rellu kattas. He clearly is someone who wants bits n pieces to do the job for him even in tough situations, which is never going to happen.

Head Curator, Sarfraz Ahmad, has revealed that a total of four different pitches have been prepared at the Pindi Stadium in Pakistan for the four upcoming international matches against New Zealand.

While speaking to a local publication, Head Curator said, “We have prepared different pitches for the four matches scheduled to be played at the Pindi Stadium during the next 12 days.”

Ahmad stated that the pitches for the two T20I matches will be similar to the ones used during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8 matches held in March.

"The pitches during the T20I matches will be more or less the same that was available during the PSL matches in March,” he said.

“Keeping in view the interest of cricket fans, T20 wickets should be more inclined toward the batter. The surfaces are being curated keeping in mind that aspect,” he added.

The first two ODIs of the five-match series between Pakistan and New Zealand will also be held at Pindi Stadium.

“For the one-day series obviously efforts are to prepare supporting tracks for the first two matches. A bit of grass possibly will be there for the first two ODI matches. A true fast bowler could exploit the thinnest of grass. Yet, the pitch will also be suitable for stroke play. These pitches will be high-scoring ones,” he said.

Ihsanullah has to play.

May as well rotate the squad for this series, bring in Haris too.

Let's rotate for this meaningless series.

Ihsanullah and Zaman in for Shaheen and Naseem.

Haris in for Rizwan.

Soch hai aapki sir

Rizwan is averaging 22 at a sr of 118 in this series. Very similar to what he was averaging during the WC

Why would he want to sit out on the Pindi roads and boost his stats?

Bring in ihsanullah for naseem

Imad dropped for nawaz

And get rid of that saim ayub and bring in m haris to bat at 5 with ifthikar pushed to number 4 .

The batting will be improved and you will have 2 better bowlers in the team in ihsanullah and nawaz.

What is the reason for playing so many T20’s in a ODI World Cup year? I rather have a 7 match ODI series

I think it's going to rain

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s right-arm speedster Haris Rauf is just six wickets shy from breaking a long-standing T20I record when his side takes on New Zealand in the remaining two PAK vs NZ T20Is of the five-match series.

Haris has the perfect opportunity to dethrone West Indies’ Jason Holder in the list of bowlers with the most wickets in a five-match T20I series.

The West Indian all-rounder claimed a record 15 wickets in a five-match series against England in 2021.

Haris, on the other hand, has thus far claimed 10 wickets in just three PAK vs NZ T20Is and needs to take six more to break Holder’s record.

Bring Ihsanullah in for Naseem. Open the bowling with Shaheen and Imad and bring Ihsan and Haris as first and second change.
