Good session.

Man I wish this stadium was in Pakistan. It would be paaaaaaaaaaaacked.

Nice session for Pakistan, hopefully it sets the tone for the rest of the day. :14:

Brilliant session for Pakistan! Both batsmen need to be aiming for big 100s here atleast!

Hard to believe this is Pakistan batting!!....

Never know what might happen after lunch though :)

Mashallah very happy to see PAK in such a strong position. i wish we are gone and passed through the bad and worse times. bad things always comes to a end...so inshalah i hope we are passed thru the bad times and now good times are ahead and we will win this series with our strength and hard work...Pity srilanka couldnt get a break thru. awsome batting by hafeez and taufeeq fumbled here and there.........

awesome stuff, in v hot conditions!

just need to keep plugging and grind the Lankan trundlers into dust!

Should be aiming for a 100 lead today with maybe 2 wickets down at best!

and here comes the personal chamcha of Mohsin Khan.

Only if Fawad Alam was given the same treatment as Azhar Ali. I cringe when I see him bat

Trust me if he was not a chamcha he would be out after failing for two tests in England (just ask Hasan Raza and Fawad Alam)

I'm sure Fawad wouldn't have done any better than Azhar did in England. Azhar has done very well since that series and has contributed in almost every test match win Pakistan have had so he doesn't deserve such comment's. However i do think that Fawad wasn't given a good enough chance to prove himself.

Pakistan need to keep being postive with the scoring! Azhar has started well, the worry as always is taufeeq and he looks like the weak link in the batting!

if it was not for hafeez we would not be scoring at 3 runs an over and we would not have had a fantastic platform for the middle order to build on

Taufeeq has to take charge!

he has played 120 balls (20 OVERS) by himself. He must guide the RR now!

and that is the part that annoys me.

Some people are dropped for the slightest mistake and some are given chances after chances.

To me that is saying that selectors have favorites. They will give someone a chance cause they have scored tonnes of run in FC, not because they like them and will drop them at the slightest mistake and then come up with excuses for not letting them back in the team.

The other people they like will be kept and given chances cause they have "talent" and "potential".

Someone like Shahid Nazir was dropped after bowling well in England, but Mohammad Sami the ultimate failure kept on getting chance after chance.

After this we have Younus, Misbah, Asad and Adnan Akmal.

No one in this Pakistan team is taking charge, be prepared for old school grinding style test cricket.

Even Tanvir Ahmed is not there to provide some hitting at the end.

I don't want mindless hitting, just 3-4 singles every over is fine

Taufeeq is playing fine imo.

There is plenty of time in this test.

You guys are forgetting the days when getting 50 off 150 was not uncommon. He's on 43 off 125.

I think it will be more like

1-2 singles per over, with the occasional boundary. Expecting our guys to move along at 2.5 an over, given most of these guys have a SR of around 40.

Yes, but a certain team called Australia changed all that. Where is the smiley for Gilchrist!

I think given the circumstances this is fine. We just need to bat on and on and win by an innings.

The reservations you have against the selectors are justified and I am sure all of us have had similar feelings about the selectors at one time or the other but if they stick with a player who does well then we should appreciate that player. At the moment it seems as if you don't like Azhar because he in your opinion has been given more chances then Fawad despite not doing well in his first matches. That's where you're wrong however as Azhar hit a match winning 50 in only his second Test against Australia and was our best Batsman on that wretched tour.

Rather then calling Azhar a chamcha you should hope that Fawad is given another go and that he manages to impress the selectors with his performances.

Azhar advances down the track and drives the ball but the fielder stops the ball.

i think your love for fawad make you blind nobody who love the way azhar is playing will say you that fawad is not a good test player (not t20 or odi). For me i rate azhar ali very highli in test cricket and fawad too . They are both the futur of pakistan test team. the people who are saying that fawad is crap are the afridi fans who want that the test match should be played like t20 match

Sri Lanka if they need to win, should a part time spinner on, we always seem to lose wickets to them (where is the Marcus North smiley!)

taufeeq umar and the word "timing" can't be put in the same sentence together. EVER!
