Because it's day 3. The pitch will be a lot better for bowlers in Day 4 and 5. Rashid Latif knows a lot more about this pitch than we do and he said the same thing.

He meant the umpire was too quick to call it a wide. I think according to rules if the umpire feels bowler is persisting with bowling too wide for a while then he must start calling wides

Shan has played a proper test innings. He was struggling at the start but he's done well.

He has a strike rate that is higher than Abid despite Abid having 11 more fours than him.

Abid really needs to learn how to rotate the strike.

At this stage Pakistan should be looking to bat the rest of today, which probably isn't much with all the bad light, and then continue to bat through to just before tea tomorrow, with an aim of 350 or more.

It will take time to bowl Sri Lanka out...a lot of time.
