They will stick with the same XI as Fahim did not have a chance to bat and bowled economically. Hafeez and Malik have done no wrong this series so can't see Sohail coming in for them until the 5th ODI.

Fahim should be kept in the XI.

Should play UKS ahead of JK and Haris ahead of Hafeez.

Imad is a passenger in the team.

Fahim is an infinitely better hitter than Imad is.

At something other than cricket, possibly. :ashwin

Jk.

Anyway, should persist with Faheem and see what he can do. What Imad brings to the team is already well known, the series is won anyway.

Looking to NZ series, I think both of them should play and Shadab should be dropped from the XI.

Now you are letting your favouritism get in the way. Imad is not worthy to clean Shadab's shoes, never mind take his place in the side.

Yes because Imad is going to spin a web (with darts) around NZ in NZ and then make a hundred off 10 balls... come on man.

Shadab is currently contributing more than Imad with the bat, the ball, and in the field. There is no competition. If we play one of the two, it should be Shadab.

Instead of competing with Shadab, Imad should be more worried about the likes of Raza Hasan or even someone like Kamran Ghulam who can easily take his spot.

Shadab has been constantly improving, Imad has not.

So the guy who has 6 wickets in the series and a match-winning 50 should be dropped for somebody who hasn't picked up 3 wickets since last year or scored a fifty since the England ODI series?

Plus, it's not like Imad has stagnated. He has actually regressed. Worse still he doesn't seem to care. He looks more and more unfit each time he takes to the field.

Future TTF the way he is going at the moment.

Shadab on the other hand, just keeps getting better and better. Has really repaid the faith.

Lol nobody rates Imad on PP. Its only me and ExpressPacer

I think he is underrated if anything.

That's a complete exaggeration. Most accept he is a very good t20 player but that is his limit at the moment. Even the management are aware of his limitations and he definitely isn't in their plans for the test team.

Express Pacer is friends with him, and by his own admission he would have dropped Imad for the 3rd ODI too.

The fact of the matter is you are wrong to say that Imad is better than Shadab. The stats don't lie, nor does the eye.

I never liked Shadab. Don't see what people see in him.

Yea this.

Also, I'm guessing Imad will be fit so replace Shadab or Faheem with him.

No way, Faheem hardly got to play, Shadab is a young talent, and isn't a fast bowler so he doesn't need rest, plus Imad doesn't really merit selection.

Damned by your own words.

You're a good poster, but you are taking the wrong approach to this and your personal bias is blinding you from seeing what everyone else can see.

What do you see in Imad that everyone else doesn’t ??

Imad is a good all-rounder and so is Fahim. But I would take Imad over him in UAE.

Shadab is average at best. I know he scored a fifty, but by that logic Umar Akmal should play because he has 20 odi fifties.

Harris for Hafeez is the only change I would make.

I think Harris has an injury.

Also, I'd stick with the same XI but if the situation presents itself I would promote Fahim so he gets to spend some time in the middle

Tough to make changes tbh. Maybe one of Raees/Junaid being rested and playing Shinwari instead.

Malik and Hafeez haven't don't much wrong either, and Hafeez' bowling is helping us in the middle overs too.

Seriously...I... can't...

1. Imam
2. Fakhar
3. Babar
4. Haris
5. Malik
6. Sarfraz
7. Fahim
8. Shadab
9. Hasan
10. Raees
11. Junaid

Its been a while since we won a bilateral series in UAE that was more than 3 matches. Its a rare episode.

We should definitely try youngsters.

Haris has got to get a game - perhaps for Hafeez or Malik

I also see value in resting Hasan

What's PAK record of consecutive ODI wins? It must be lower among the established sides, because PAK is not the most ruthless side. I can recall Malik winning 10 at a stress against us & ZIM, but ....

Wait until NZ tour to make a proper judgement the pitches and ground plus better batsmen mean phainty is on the cards it will be the next test in his development.

Are you serious or just trolling this thread??

Shahab is wicket taker, he has troubled Indian batting line up in both matches, took wickets of indian and SL batters among westerners. He is the only spinner in the team who spins the ball. What Immad has to offer, he is just a darter. There is no comparison between the two, one is the future other is impedance for the future

Why replace faheem with Imad. Faheem is a far better player then Imad. Imad is a liability on the team.. Slow i fueld cant bat not good against asian side as they play his spin better.

If Shadab is average for what he is doing at only the age of 19, Imad must be the worst player in the world.

There is seriously no comparison, Shadab bowls better, fields better, and if given the chance, would probably bowl better too. All this ignoring the fact that Shadab is 19 and Imad is 28.

I personally thought the 1990 steak of 10 wins (four of those coming in Sharjah of course) was our longest ODI streak (it was legit too since it came against all top teams as well) but then someone on Social Media corrected me on the fact that our longest running streak apparently is 12 wins in 2008 vs ZIM, BAN and (the third opponenet I can't really recall).

I logged off cricket after Woolmer's death for nearly two years so I missed quite a bit from 2007 WC loss to Ireland up until 2009 T20 WC tournament. I missed Amir's test debut against SL, our T20 runners up campaign, YK 300 (The most regrettable for me personally).

Fahim should have came instead of Hafeez to give him some batting practice. We didn't learn anything from Hafeezs runs today.

I would rest Hasan Ali as he plays all 3 formats and bring in Usman Khan Shinwari.
I would also rest Azam as he has been playing non-stop in all formats too and scoring 2 centuries in the scorching heat of UAE must take a lot of you. I would play Haris Sohail in his place

1) Fakhar Zaman
2) Imam-ul-Haq
3) Haris Sohail
4) Mohammad Hafeez
5) Shoaib Malik
6) S Ahmed (C) (WK)
7) Shadab Khan
8) Faheem Ashraf
9) Junaid Khan
10) Rumman Raees
11) Usman Khan Shinwari

This is a good chance for him to pile on the wickets due to his immense form and the poor batsmen. Doubt he wants to be rested

Yes but needs this rest ahead of more important series/tournaments. He missed a game in the World XI series and missed the 2nd test against Sri Lanka due to injuries so doesn't make sense to play him in a dead rubber.

Rest Hassan Ali. Let's see what the attack can do without him. Professor also gets the drop because of action. Keep Fahim, bring in Haris and either Shinwari or Imad.

I did try and tell him you would say this.

At the end of the day, the team winning trumps personal favorites.

However that being said, Shadab never had any competition to begin with. Imad or Fahim or even Hafeez aren't his competition. Imad's real competition is Hafeez, and with Hafeez being called for a suspect action and most probably leading to a ban, I CAN see Imad making the team solely for the absence of Hafeez.

My perfect squad moving forward would be:

1) Imam Ul Haq
2) Fakhar Zaman
3) Babar Azam
4) Harris Sohail
5) Shoaib Malik
6) Sarfraz Ahmed
7) Fahim Ashraf/Imad Wasim
8) Shadab Khan
9) Hasan Ali
10) Mohammad Amir
11) Junaid Khan/Rumman Raees

I might be wrong, but I am expecting MoHa to bat in top 3 again - now that his bowling is a question mark, he needs runs to prove his worth ...... albeit against this SRL, after 3-0; but he has to give Inzi, Arthur, Sarfraz ... up to PAK's PM something to sell.

The kind of seniors and the team management we have, I doubt Hafeez and insecure Malik would leave their position. Looks difficult for Haris Sohail, can only replace one of the middle order bats. Only who could be replaced are Shadab, Junaid and Faheem. Babar Azam deserves a rest. They've won the series they should experiment, bring Faheem earlier with a new/semi-new ball, give Haris Sohail the bowl on this wicket[with uncertainty of Hafeez to bowl for side due to action testing issues]. This is the team I'd like to see tomorrow.

Imam
Zaman
Haris
Hafeez
Malik
Sarfraz
Fahim
Shadab
Hasan
Usman Shinwari
Raees

However that being said, Shadab never had any competition to begin with. Imad or Fahim or even Hafeez aren't his competition.

I don't think that's right. Didn't Shadab have to sit out the CT game vs Sri Lanka so both Fahim and Imad could be accommodated?

That said, if that decision had to be made again today (ie. they needed to accomodate Fahim) would Imad be the one to sit out? I would suspect so. In fact, that's exactly what happened in the most recent ODI so I think you are right to say Shadab is a sure starter now but that hasn't always been the case.

As for Hafeez's absence, it would be far better if someone like Haris replaced him.

Imad is benefitting from the senior culture.

Shadab is now surely undroppable, he is our wild card and Faheem has more potential as both a power hitter and wicket taker.

Imad has got to go... there’s no need to settle on mediocrity.

Hafeez being caught chucking again has taken the excitement out of the series... the poor Sri Lankan players are feeling cheated

I can understand Haris coming in but guys like Malik and Faheem need game time.

Move Malik up so he gets to bad, the best striker in the team cant get a shout these days. Faheem also needs to be given more than 5 overs.

have heard that sarfarazb said yesterday that hafiz was dropped from the test side for the sake of giving youngsters a go against srilanka,he is in our plan.so be ready for his test comeback.

Imam
Fakhar
Babar
Malik
Harris
hafeez
sarafarz
faheem
shadab
hasan
rumman
This team looks perfect with 3 seamers 2 spinners plus malik and harris can bowl.

The 2nd ODI would have been real tight without his chucking : 10-0-24-1, and that 1 was Perera in a low scoring match, which ended in 32 runs gap & 2 overs to go.

SarfiBabarHaris what are your thoughts on Imam ul haq?

yar itni batting dekhi nai.. Last mai dekhi thii.. looked good and I think will be a better test prospect than odis.
how was he against the new ball ?

he did start off a bit shaky but i think that was probably due to nerves. lots of plays and misses outside off etc

Time to breathe a sigh of relief...no more matches in Abu Dhabi on the slowest and lowest pitches in the world.

Sharjah pitches tend to be truer and easier for batsmen to hit through the line. The crowds and atmosphere is also usually oretty good, with the ground situated in a more convenient location for fans and it'll be a Friday game too.

Don't take your foot off the gas, we need to be more ruthless as a team and look to win this series 5-0. Let's keep the run going.

Abu dhabi should be banned as a venue. Useless picthes.

Today Pakistan should bat first and score 400. Fakhar and Babar need to score big 100s and faheem needs to score a quick 50 off 25 balls to take the team to 400.

Yeah wanna see a big score. At least 300. Especially against this bakwaas SL attack. Lakmal, Gamage, Perera, Akila, Vandersay lololol. :))

I have a feeling we'll drop our guard now with series won and lose this one. Hoping for a clean sweep though, think we've never done one before or is that for sth else?
