330 was on card if Rana, Gul, Ameer or Shoib had come in. Why Fawad?

He hardly got an opportunity in Sri Lanka.
Remember when U.Akmal and Alam were playing? He should have rotate the strike but didn't do it as you were suppose to do

48.4
Malinga to Shahid Afridi, no run, yorker dug out down the pitch

know what ?? this something for you afridi fans to celebrate... there were times the used to get bowled invariably to any yorker

48.5

I thought warm-up matches are meant to give some batting practice to batsmen and bowling practice to bowlers. Fawad has been selected for CT as a pure batsman, so it was a right decision to give him some batting practice.

8 runs from that over

Pakistan RR 6.12
Last 5 ovs 43/1 RR 8.60

Malinga 8 overs 55 runs econ. 6.87 (1nb, 3w):)))

1 innings when he was on bad form with his timing. Remember when Dhoni made 12 off 20 or so balls in T20 WC vs West Indies. Is he a bad player now?

Damn, you guys update quicker than cricinfo and i know you lot get your info from cricinfo!

49.1
Kulasekara to Fawad Alam, FOUR, creams one off the front foot, clears cover by a few meters

Somehow,I dont understand the logic of taking bat.Powerplay in the last 5 ovs of the innings..You are supposed to hit it around in the last 8-10 ovs..Before the introduction of Bat.Powerplay,we used to score around 90 runs in the last 10 ovs..even after the introduction of Bat.Powerplay,we still score 90-100 runs.So what is the difference.I think teams havent figured out yet when to take Bat.powerplay..Ideally,it should be taken in the middle ovs or when the ball is changed after 34 ovs..

I think much also does depend on the match situation itself, in terms of how many wickets have gone down, who is still to come with the bat. Most teams believe they can consolidate and keep wickets in hand until the last 10 overs and then hit out using the fielding restrictions.

Often what has happened is that batsmen have gotten out when the team least expected them to or a cluster of wickets fall quickly. That's when the plans go out of the window. Also, the batsmen in the team, who can be termed as consolidators are not the best batsmen to take advantage of the fielding restrictions even if they are in. Teams tend to wait until a big hitter is at the crease before opting to take the powerplay.

Imagine Malik and Sanga's faces right now!!!:)))

Faces that say "damn my team needs to chase this", the other says "damn, i didnt get a chance to bat on this pitch".

why they keep sending this shorty when only 5 more overs to go ? cmon...it doesnt make sense...rana should have been here instead of Fawad..

15 pages this thread now:)
need a new one for SL innings?

You just itching to make a new thread, aint ya?! lol

I think a score of 310 will be good but not impossible to chase. Seems like a good pitch.

Kulasekara to Naved-ul-Hasan, OUT, plays across the line, up goes the finger
Naved-ul-Hasan lbw b Kulasekara 0 (0m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

afridi should not have taken the single that brought navid ul hasan onto strike

looks like srilanka is gonna coast to victory...

they'll have 10 batsman and one all rounder in their innings to do it.

Going from strength to strength, mashaAllah. And silencing scores of detractors along the way (not that he cares!). :afridi
