259 going into the last over is not a bad effort, but really if Pakistan had batted with a bit more urgency 300 was on here.

What the hell is wrong with shoaib malik's brain ? Why would be not promoted afridi ahead of himself. Younis and misbah has played professionally but somewhat slowly. Afridi is out of touch with the bat and needed to be promoted early ahead of malik. Is the wicket slow ? sorry i have just started following the match live on cricinfo so i can't figure out why the general sluggishness.
Mind boggling. It really is.

Afridi screws up and it's Malik's fault.

Notice the wording: Afridi..needed. Not what the team needed. Let's accommodate Afridi, always.

Bowled him but Kami did his job. He gave us the boost we needed.

273 is the total. Should be an interesting chase!!

Kamran could easily play as a batsman at #6 and Sarfraz can play as keeper. And well Afridi should be dropped.

mon a last ball six
damn :out.

Good competitive score in the end imo. Will be tough to chase under lights on a slow pitch with a big outfield.

slow batting throught the middle overs if this does indeed cost pakistan the match today it will be really disapointing so lets just hope they win.

Afridi's a crucial bowler in the middle overs. Id rather play this same team but drop Ajmal for Sarfaraz.

Akmal showing Afridi how you can make an impact with only a few overs to go...the only criticism I have of Malik is that he should have sent the man in form aka Akmal ahead of Afridi but that would have most of PPers here baying for his blood (which they are still doing...)

true but many wont agree

With afridi's dismal performance in recent times with bat and ball i believe it is time to drop him and pick fawad alam regularly in his place or yasir arafat. Both fawad and yasir are all rounders and their inclusion would bring a good balance to the team in long run. Fawad is defintely a specialist batsman who when need can blast off as we saw in a 2020 tornament held recently where pakistan lost to sri lanka in the final. Yasir arafat is similar to razzak with regards to his batting and a better bowler than razzak. How more long will pakistan selectors keep some seasoned players in team who now are out of form.
