the way we are playing we are not on par with modern cricket, places we will be annihilated england, australia, new zealand and south africa

Imad & Sarfu realising that power hitting is not their strong points so looking to improvise in an attempt to get boundaries. Thats quite smart - play to your strengths.

If Pakistan loses this game, a lot of the blame goes to Sarfraz. This should easily have been a total of 340 and his innings totally stalled the momentum we had.

He is better than Rizwan

You can do a lot in four overs, if you remember all those Razzaq innings.

I'm saying Sarfraz should play at 5 when there are 20 overs or more left but in such suitation you could promote Umar so this gives you flexibility.

yes perhaps your right..but has akmal changed his attitude yet?

Sarf, Riz, Imad and Nawaz have to be the most one-dimensional lower order in the world. None of them can accelerate.

So what do u want? Hit every ball for boundary... And get out quickly like useless Rizwan?

From getting 350+ to ending at 308, only Pakistan can do that..

2 boundaries in the last 13 overs with 9 wickets in hand. Absolutely pathetic.

Speaking of finishers I think even India seem to be struggling in that dept. Hopefully hardik matures and develops into a dashing finisher

Read the full post & do you own maths. Now watch & enjoy last 4 overs with 2 new batsman at both end & PAK still having 6 wickets at hand.

What do you think now?

Not sure if the pitch is just getting slower and it's getting harder to bat on, or it's simply the fact that we are missing power hitters + some smart death bowling by WI

Showing how we still belong between 6-8 in rankings

Don't have the players like the top teams who can accelerate and just take the game away

good score, I think we'll win this..good rebuilding for our side and azam is a real find. Probably need to get rid of losers like Malik and move imad or nawaz up the order a bit..is akmal ready to come back to this side? Overall I'm happy considering our recent miserable run.

outfield looks slower too..could be early evening dew? I dont think the windies will find this easy..

It's harsh on Rizwan but we need umar in the team, at least we know is capable of boosting the scoring rate.

Hammad also needs to be drafted. He at least has the technique for power hitting, it's actually similar to what Samuals does in that he plants himself in a way where he isn't just limiting himself to a leg side hack but can open up the offside as well.

People like Yamin deserve it more, but I feel when it comes purely to power hitting Hammad is better, though Yamin is probably the better allround batsmen

Although this has been a bit poor from pak. The blame lies squarely on the 2 centurions. I believe if you are hitting a century then it is your duty to score a few more runs as you are well set and it is your obligation to lift the team score by making up for the balls consumed initially

being in the 6-8 is fine for now until our players have developed..lots of potential..I would be happy with 6th position at the moment..

A poor finish from Pakistan, but the pitch considerably slowed down in the last 15-20 overs. A strong indication of that is Babar appearing to time his shots poorly in the last part of his innings. The West Indian bowlers also didn't provide any pace - they didn't bowl Gabriel at all in death. The pitch isn't as great as Waqar is making it out to be though.

Pakistan do not have the muscle down the order.

Sarfraz is good in top 3. Imad/Nawaz are not cut out for belting boundaries.

Umar Akmal was needed today.

A bit of all but we have square pegs in round holes.

None of the players from sarfraz down actually have a hitting technique bar maybe Imad.

The stance that Sarfraz and Rizwan get themselves into is great for strike rotation, great if they were coming in at the 30th over, but coming in at the last 10 and going for it is beyond them

all three are barely domestic class let alone international class..pak played ok today..we will not go from 250 plus scores to 350 plus overnight..

On this front sachin was terrific. Normally he would try and score more quickly had he reached a century.

And no one is even asking to slog just maintain your position and play proper cricketing shots.

In this aspect rohit has definitely developed tremendously.

Yeah but why shouldn't we try ?

Let's not give up so easily either. Hammad has failed thus far in Internationals but he hasn't been given much a chance. Putting into perspective if Adan didn't break his finger we wouldn't have sarfraz, he was condemned as a TTF

Sarfraz is a one trick pony. His go to shot is the sweep shot. if the bowler adjusts to it, all Sarfraz can do is take singles or twos.

You need someone who can hit the ball straight behind the bowlers head as well as in the V to throw bowlers off their line.

My point being if the pitch is a slow one then it is incredibly tough for the new guy to come and slog from ball one.
So the blame must fall on sarf, azhar and Babar.

Maybe you cud forgive Babar as he is a newbie still.
