Pakistan v Zimbabwe | 2nd T20I | Rawalpindi | 8th November, 2020 | Zimbabwe innings

World T20 is in Australia where Qadir has experience of playing. Needs to keep performing.

Dare I say he is the best spinner (quality wise) after Ajmal.
 
Remember Qadir is so good...he got Madhevere out twice in this game with his googly !!

As the posters are mentioning we need to keep all spinners including Gohar in contention due to the place we are going to play major tournaments in next few years. Hope our management listens and don't go crazy like Waqar who played 4 pacers in Kolkata
 
Next T20 game is in NZ. Can't really leave out Imad and Shadab. Won't need 3 spinners there. Selection headache for Pakistan

Shadab is an all rounder, but not a wicket taking leggy.

Qadir is a leggy.

If we need a spinner Qadir looks like he should be our main pick going forward.
 
Goes to show how players in Pakistan are like.

Usman Qadir at 27-28 only prefers T20s as his stats in all 3 formats are not good let alone being great.

He has not played much cricket rather than throwing tantrums about leaving Pak and going to Aus and playing for them - before he quickly realised that he wasn't going to break through just like Fawad Ahmed didn't who did the same a couple of years ago.

His 2nd game and people are already calling him a magician and 2nd best to Ajmal and what not.

Isn’t the idea that we should be bowling teams like Zimbabwe out for a low score...surely that puts us in better stead than allowing Zimbabwe to score so it looks like a half decent game
 
Usman has got has all the varieties to do well but the only problem is his habbit of bowling these half trackers now and then
 
I'm pleasantly surprised by Qadir.

I know it's Zimbabwe, but you can tell he's legitimately threatening. A good coach could work and turn him into a quality asset.

In his current state, better teams would feast on the bad deliveries but that can be corrected.

Australia have a habit of producing great leg spinners. If anything, going down under has helped him a lot.
 
This is what Zimbabwe would have done in the second innings, not sure what Pakistan wanted to achieve today with their bland brand image?

Come on now... Yasir Shah has dominated at the test level, is that not quality? He's actually done it for 5+ years at the highest level, you don't become the fastest ever to 200 test wickets if you're not really good.

True, I meant in LOs.

Yasir is a great spinner, however he gets smacked a lot since a year or two.

A bowler of his skill should not have this pathetic fc record even in our sorry circuit where mediocre players feast.
His record and his fitness shows he is not committed to put in the hard yards and excel and is only interested in glory hunting (t 20 wc) and piggy back on that success to earn round the year income being a t 20 leagues mercenary.

Either way but all of a sudden people going he's 2nd best to Ajmal and all its only Zimbabwe he's playing against here.

Had he been doing this in domestic level it would be understandable but he hasn't been as his stats show that.

Qadir will replace Yasir Shah.

I said yesterday at the start of the match posters hate anyone with connection to important person but Qadir looked promising in the National cup, so derived to be picked in this squad.

Yes It’s Zimbabwe fair enough, the batting quality isn’t there.

But It is also a dry track in Pakistan from which he is getting tremendous purchase. Imagine him on days 3-5 at old Trafford, I think he would do particularly well.

He is not in a habit of bowling test match spells his pathetic 4 day record and fitness shows he is not interested to succeed on that format

Players peak at different times. He’s gained some experience in Australia and is now doing the damage

Not really... He's not only been our best bowler since 2014, but he's also been the MVP of our test team single-handedly winning us multiple matches. He really only had that one bad year in 2019 in which he only played 4 tests, 3/4 were in SA/AUS and tell me which spinner doesn't struggle in those places. Everywhere else in the world he's performed.

Even in England this year you're saying he's getting smacked around a lot lately but he was our leading wicket taker by far and tied second highest wicket taker... That's in England where almost every spinner struggles, and this guy who's bowled well I'll give him credit but one good game on this spinner friendly track makes him better in quality then Yasir?

I can tell you this right now without Yasir in the last 6 years we lose a whole heck of a lot more matches and never reach that number 1 ranking in England for sure.

Pakistani players really need to learn how to dive without risking their knees. The way Pakistan looses players here and there with freak injuries is unimaginable in other cricket playing nations.
 
Beautiful bowling from Qadir again. Irrespective of the opposition, cant remember enjoying a spell of leg spin in T20I this much in recent times. Good loop and flight and beating the batsmen on both the edges.

You're not wrong.

I've had reservations about Qadir too, which is why I am surprised to see his skill. It could be useful in this format.

I don't think he is patient enough for the longer formats. You can tell just by watching him. He bowls 1-2 bad deliveries per over, which makes a leggie harmless when batsmen have all the time in the world to see them off.

But in this format, his impatience won't hurt him as much. They could polish him into a good asset but it is a long-term project.
 
Qadir is flighting the ball and using variations. Shadab and Imad dart the ball a lot more. Would be disappointed if Qadir is not starting the T20s against NZ. We need to see how he can do against better opposition.

Indeed brother. Yasir has been a very crucial player for Pakistan. He is a gun player!

I agree it was a bit of a hyperbole about Qadir :))
 
Its not the opposition but the quality of deliveries and level of control. This spell has been very impressive to say the least. Surely has earned the ticket to NZ with this spell. We need a genuine spinner in middle overs and unfortunately Shadab was not filling that role for quite some time now.
 
One good performance and this guy is the second coming of Shane Warne, and needs to replace Yasir in the Test Side lmao. :))) How'd Shadab do in his debut series against Windies? This is Zimbabwe lmao, let's see how he does against some actual teams before crowing this guy the next big thing lmao.

It's also really sad how little respect Yasir is given on this forum, posters here act as if he's replaceable. Lmao there's a reason why there has been no real #2 spinner in our side for a long time, nobody is on Yasir's level and getting a few cheap wickets in T20's is much different compared to bowling in tests. But yeah he'll come in replace Yasir in tests and do even better than he has (fastest to 200 wickets, won us countless matches/series) all because he has that googly...
 
Yasir Shahs best T20i figures are against Zimbabwe...they are 0 wickets for 8 runs ������
 
If Shadab is available in the last T20 it would be good to see two leggies being tried. Don’t remember when was the last time Pak played white ball cricket with two leggies.
 
People here seem to have gone cuckoo over Qadir after his career best figures today that too in his 37th T20 game.
 
Yasir Shah is a good leggie. No one is saying he isn’t.

Warne said it during the England tour, Yasir has natural variation I.e. the amount of turn he gets varies. Yasir doesn’t have a lot of variety with his deliveries.

With Qadir, who can turn it both ways, the prospects are a lot greater and not necessarily reliant on Day 5 roughed up wicket.
 
Not to mention Yasir is 34 years old which means his real age is 37. Not sure how long everyone expects him to carry on playing. It’s not like he’s shifting the podge and keeping himself match fit at all times is it?

So the Pakistani pacers have been bowling these slower ball variations very well. Guess you can learn a lot from the Sandeeps and Chahars in the IPL
 
The smile just before he bowled the last ball showed he was going to put it right where it will go for a six and he did.
 
Maybe worth experimenting with the batting line up. Open with Haider. Send Rizwan and Khushdil up the order.

Yeah drop everyone above the age of 33 even if they're still performing based on the assumption that they will drop off at some point.

In fact ICC should make it mandatory for everyone above 33 to retire since sooner or later they're going to fall off, now weather that be 1 year from now or 7 years from now it doesn't matter because obviously once your 33+ you can't play cricket anymore.

Goodbye Rohit, Anderson, Broad, Shakib, Dhawan, Aswhin, Warner, Finch, Lyon, Kohli. It's very uncertain how long all you guys above 33 will carry on playing so please just retire now to spare us of the uncertainty.
