Players who have performed will be given rest otherwise everybody thinks you got dropped. For example today Wahab had to sit out for Musa. What I expect is that Imam will be rested for Fakhar or Haider will be made to open. Iftikhar will be rested for Khushdil. Shaheen Shah might be rested for any bowler. If Shadab is not fit then I expect 3 changes otherwise there could be 4 changes given the scenario. Imad would also have been swapped for Zafar Gohar but today's performance by Imad might lead Misbah to play him.

To be honest this is a very exciting team. Just replace Qadir with Shadab and Faheem with Gohar, this is the team that most people on PP wanted Misbah to play from the start.

I don't buy this excuse of players getting insecure about their spots and coming under pressure.They are professional sportsmen and they should learn to cope with that pressure while knowing that the place is theirs as long as they are performing. Giving a game or two to other people doesn't mean there is a conspiracy to get you thrown out or that you aren't the first choice.

It's the national team and they better believe that their are people at their back ready to come in. Otherwise you go back to the problem that has plagued Pakistan cricket for ages.

Good squad though, the best one so far.

Rizwan is going to the first choice wk for now, and he should know that too, but I would have liked to see Rohail get this game. This is how you test and improve your bench strength. PCB has done a really good job with Rohail so far. Now they just need to give him some games here and there, especially dead rubbers.

Once Naseem gets back into, the pace department will be coming along nicely with everyone getting games here and there. No better way to develop a squad for the WC. Waqar is doing a decent job on this front. Just give Shaheen some breaks, we don't want to run him into the ground.

Because he is in the squad. I am sure most "experts" would take Saud Shakeel over Abdullah Shafique over in ODIs, but the former has not been considered due to the biased against his province.

Definitely. I am one of Abdullah’s biggest fans but if you’re rushing him so quickly you better give him a hell of a long extended rope with the national side. More than likely, instead what will happen is you make him miss first class and list a matches in his 2nd ever professional season and then drop him out of the blue without playing him for Pakistan. Shatter his confidence and essentially destroy the player by selecting him before he is ready. He then toils in domestic for years and gets another callup in 5 years for a SENA before being dropped again for scoring 30 as an opener on debut. By the time he is 34, Misbah is back for his fourth stint as Head Coach and selects him permanently.

I have been vouching for Abdullah for some months now but I would have liked to see him debut in 6 months, not now. I 100% believe he would play higher quality cricket in domestics than against Zimbabwe. But now that he’s selected, I will be infuriated if he is anything other than backed utterly and completely.
