I think you didn't see the middle overs. The way Ajmal was spinning them, it was quite difficult to score. They just survived by dead batting everything. Afghanistan want to setup the chase for their big hitters against a wettish ball.


Other teams sure might have scored at a quicker rate but could have lost a few wickets had they gone after the spinners.


I have seen quite a few teams adopt this strategy against our spinners on a spinning track; don't give wickets to spinners and attack others in death overs with wickets in hand.
