Looks like Bazid from the line-up.

Fawad Alam a 7 probably won't even get a chance or just a few overs in the slog overs, he is number 5 batsmen quite comfortably but that part of Pakistan's line-up is a bit too crowded at the moment.

Akmal has played after a relatively shaky start but that apart comparing Akmal and Butt just doesn't make sense. They have different roles in the team.

Pakistan's problem since the departure of Amir Sohail and Saeed Anwar has not been the scoring rate of the opener but the inability to avoid losing a flurry of wickets in the first 15 overs. Afrdi, Nazir, and Farhat all scored very fast but couldn't build a foundation.

Butt may not be the most charismatic player but he promises something that Pakistan has been looking for years, and that is stability at the top order. We have a lot of middle order and lower order strength. Our batting is lacking a solid opening foundation. And from what i have seen over the recent years Butt is the only opener who has come even close to promising that.

Therefore i think, Pakistan needs to persist with Butt.

It's a dilemma that Kamran Akmal is now doing well... In the long run I'm not sure it's a viable option but I'm glad he is at least being very assertive and completely dominating the BD bowlers.
