It's funny how some of you actually expect Younis to be dropped, he's a 'senior player', he can't possibly be 'dropped' unless he's in woeful form. Reality is, with Pakistan and basically even India and Sri Lanka, it's the younger players who face the chop to accommodate another player, so with that idea clearly it had to be Shafiq, who had to go if Hammad was to come in, unfortunately, it appears Misbah doesn't rate Hammad to highly, definetly not as a bowler. He didn't bowl him even once against England and Hammad took three wickets in 4 overs in his only BPL game just a day after the England series. Unfortunately, the think tank, whether it's Misbah or Whatmore are being defensive before the game starts. Younis, Umer, Misbah and Shafiq, thats 4 specialist batsmen in the middle and then there's Sarfraz coming in at number 8, that's pretty useless. This essentially means, the only bowling options are Gul, Cheema, Hafeez, Afridi and Ajmal so no bowler can have a bad day, well maybe Younis can roll his arm but that's a far cry. The point is, playing an extra batsman means, you're expecting the batting to fail every now and then but if you're top order doesn't fire, chances are, your lower order won't either and even if it does, it can't bail you out every other game.
