Pakistan vs Bangladesh World Cup warm-up game called off due to persistent rain

Last year had a major drought...had the World Cup been played that time, it would have been dry and turning wickets...

I think around 3 matches for pak will be washed out. Hate the current weather so much.

The only thing I don't like with these Kiwi players. They start crying once reverse swing is on card. Still remember how they cried when Umar Gul took 5/6 or something against them. [MENTION=132954]Aman[/MENTION]

The amount of battering the ball gets these days the ball probably gets scuffed up a lot quicker than it did back in the days when teams were happy to block for the first 15 overs.
 
And why should the ball be replaced? Is he hinting that there might be foul play involved?

PCB should sue him

Timing really sucks for us here in the US. Thought I would watch some game after sehri but doesn't look like it. Going to bed. Enjoy guys.
 
The latest the match can start is at 15:02 and the rain is forecasted to continue till at least 3 so there's be no match today.

I'm looking at the met office and bbc weather. Met office says that rain will stop at 2 but clearing up and all that will take at least an hour. Bbc weather says it will stop raining at 3.

Then why the ball wasnt changed when Pak was was chasing the total in first ODI vs Eng. It was totally roughed up but umpires didnt do anything about it.

Says it's not a bowler skill because the ball is out of shape. Also says it's fine/fair if the ball reverses for both sides after 40th over.

That's like saying team A is swinging/spinning the ball but team B can't, so team A should be banned from swinging/spinning.

Most absurd and illogical Cricketing expertise I've heard.

Exactly. I am pretty sure its not gonna happen as against Eng it was one of the most roughed up ball one will cone across but umpires didnt even take a look let alone change it.

Also I think cricket needs more elements and variety in it to attract more fans and keep the previous fans. Reverse swing is one of those elements of cricket which adds a lot to the game not only in keeping the competition between bat and bowl but also visually and thrill wise which is necessity for any sport.
 
Bcz he can't play it....he wants a bowling machine to bowl to him even in the match
 
The rain is expected to clear up by 3 but the Cut off time is also 3 so it'll be a washout.
 
Washout will be good for us. We can surprise Bangladesh. Our players need rest. We played 9 matches where some teams are playing only 1 or highest 2 matches. Still we cannot beat Afghanistan. 1 more or less match will not improve our skill or performance.
 
Match has more chance of happening than not according to bookmakers.

60-40 in favour of a completed match as of now.

Agreed but its not possible to play warm up in every kind of conditions. Some teams are getting tough wickets and some are getting flatter ones even in warm ups. In the main event it all comes down to think tank how well they understand conditions and create plan for each player in their team and opposite team accordingly.
 
Why are they not cancelling this useless game yet!!! Let the players go back to base and do some indoor nets - one full day wasted in gossiping and sipping tea at dressing room; and these conditions are not safe for such nonsense 4 days before the start of man event. I don’t think ever in any tournament, warmup games or indicated what’s coming up next.

The players have been in the nets all this time barring the lunch hour.

Mickey and co realize they need experience in the pace bowling unit. So it's a given that Amir, Wahab will play alongside Hasan. Not to forget Wahab's yorkers sealed it for him.

Also Malik will survive for now because of his seniority. Only Haris or Asif will play against WI. IF Malik doesn't perform he might lose his place after a few games.

It's pretty much settled now for Pak.

Playing even 20 overs in a match like situation is way better practice than playing 12 hours in the nets.

I think the conditions in late June and July will be completely different to May and early June
But obviously momentum and preparations always is good especially fielding drills
 
If the umpires can resist maybe 25 mins after the Cut off time we can get a good 20 over per side match. The weather is clear after 3.

Not if there is nothing at stake - PAK players play lots, lots of such games in Quaid E Azam trophy, Patrons Cup, PAK Cup, Corporate Cup, Regional Cup, District Cup, City Cup, National Cup, Ramadan Cup, Winter Cup, Summer Cup, Rainy Cup, Drought Cup .... where national players bash club cricketers .... hence they often struggle when something is at stake, against someone who can bite back.
