Thanks for defeating your own point then!

Hash....my point was that Afridi should def be considered a specialist bowler...bc he has done really well in that aspect of his game for the past few years...wouldn't you agree?

oops sorry. Earlier someone had said we only had 3 fron tline bowlers and this isn't enough for an ODI team. I thought it was you....it was someone else.

I revoke my comments and the compensation cheque is in the post.

man this could be a stroke of brilliance by pak management ..

get YK and Malik to split 10 overs and we can play an extra batsman.

Imran Nazir runs out Kohli. Brilliant direct hit results in Kohli going back to the pavilion

Delhi 46/4

see this is why we should have batted first .. we might end up chasing a small total and all our batsmen might not get a chance to get to the crease.

If that extra batsman is Fawad then Fawad, Malik and Younis can share 10 overs

judging by the text commentary....Younis seems to be getting some movement! He has used his time at Yorkshire well. Good stuff Younis.

Movement??? YK is a spinner?? :20: :20: :20:

well bowling at the international level isn't easy...yk will require a lot of practice...bc when the pressure is on its a compeltely different game...n that why bowling has to come naturally in those situations....maybe he has been practicing and now finally when the coach is satisfied wit him in the nets...he is being tried in a match situation...

and Pakistan are doing fantastic in the field....sigh...i hope they can take this performance to the first ODI...n not just waste it all in the warm up :D

true

but it seems this pitch has a bit of juice in it. I doubt there will be any juice in the ODI pitches so it wouldn't have been much help to our batsman who are in practice anyway, given that we have only just had a series against SA.

from the commentary...its seems like yk is swinging it both way...ala Sachin...just a lil quicker i guess

Younis Khan is the best bowler in the world

...may end early enough to have a 2nd practice game!

Nah thats wrong yaar. Yousuf and Afridi are not playing. Yasir Hameed and Misbah are playing instead

Asif would have done good here. Would have had his confidence back in ODIs too.

Sohail Tanvir has only bowled 1 wide in 3 and a half overs!

Miracles do happen!

Wait till the official ODIs start. He will be back in form. Must be holding himself back as its just a tour match.

Team for this match:

Salman Butt
Imran Nazir
Younis Khan
Yasir Hameed
Shoaib Malik
Misbah-ul-haq
Kamran Akmal
Fawad Alam
Sohail Tanvir
Umar Gul
Shoaib Akhtar

Well I guess Rao has a confirmed slot for next ODI (which he deserves it)

i guess its got to do with the weather conditions. it is known to swing in the mornings of the winter in india and it did in all the australian matches. that is the reason why Indians got early wickets in most of the matches.

i really wana see this, can anyone record an over or two of YK's bowling??

i think that the day matches in India do start quite early also...so adding to the morning dew n swinging conditions

Just ONE WIDE for Tanvir in 5 overs!

Is this guy feeling alright?

17.1 Younis Khan to Dhawan, no run, Pitching outside off and moving away. defended off the back foot

Tell me he didn't bowl that from around the wicket....usually a difficult bowl to a left hander from around the wicket and moving it away

thank you for letting me know though
lol no problem, i would have posted them here if they worked, trued many sites, but i guess they use the same feed, thats why none are working...

Younis' figures so far: 4.2 overs - 0 maidens - 15 runs - 2 wickets

more important than his figures - does he actually look like a decent bowler ?

In these conditions where the ball is moving around, he might do well. But no way should he be tried on flat tracks. The batsmen will eat him alive

not true...if his job is to ball 4 to 5 overs...he can do well even on flat tracks...if he consistently puts it on a good length...

His pace isnt ideal for flat tracks. 70mph dibbly dobblers without movement are gifts for the batsmen

As long as he doesn't give away too many wides too.

No not true.. Mumbai and Banglore were day night matches and both times Aus batted first in the afternoon. Banglore got washed.

Kochin/Hyderabad and Nagpur - Aussies batted first while ..these are not not exactly in north.. India batted first in Chandigarh and won and also batted in Vododhra and lost.. the two most nothern cities..

when aussies batted
Kochin
Fall of wickets1-3 (Gilchrist, 0.6 ov), 2-8 (Hodge, 3.1 ov), 3-66 (Clarke, 15.3 ov), 4-160 (Hayden, 31.1 ov), 5-268 (Symonds, 46.5 ov), 6-297 (Hopes, 49.2 ov)

Nagpur FOW
Fall of wickets1-2 (Clarke, 0.3 ov), 2-98 (Ponting, 14.4 ov), 3-102 (Gilchrist, 15.5 ov), 4-129 (Hodge, 21.5 ov), 5-204 (Haddin, 37.6 ov), 6-294 (Hopes, 47.4 ov), 7-315 (Lee, 49.4 ov), 8-317 (Johnson, 49.6 ov)

Hyderabad
Fall of wickets1-76 (Gilchrist, 13.2 ov), 2-112 (Hayden, 20.3 ov), 3-135 (Ponting, 28.2 ov), 4-258 (Clarke, 44.6 ov), 5-263 (Hodge, 46.4 ov), 6-290 (Symonds, 49.5 ov), 7-290 (Hopes, 49.6 ov)

doesnt really say that there was much advantage of early morning conditions.. Hodge coudnt buy a run and other than India hardy made inroads in first 10 overs..

gangs has done decently bowling around that pace.

HOw come younis khan got a chance to bowl before the great fawad alam
The "all rounder" who is meant to replace Abdul Razzaq :21:

Can you ever make a post without mentioning Razzaq?

Short ball from Akhtar leaves Dhawan looking a little - shall we say breathless or even scared.... :)

But Akhtar bowling around the 83-86mph - nothing express since I started watching a few overs ago.

May well be the heat

81/4 Dhawan 30, Bhatia 9

Shoaib Akhtar hasn't really bowled at full throttle today. His fastest delivery so far has only been 138 kmph today which is certainly not fast as per the standards he sets with the ball. He has concentrated very hard on his line and length so far and has succeeded in this attempt.
22.2 Akhtar to Bhatia, no run, good length delivery on the stumps, Bhatia comes on the frontfoot and looks to defend, inside edge onto the pads

iirc brett lee wasn't that quick either in india..

SUPERSAMI said:
Akhtar's average speed is 133.4 km/h so far... :(

i guess afridi was telling the truth in the locker room..
