If you bat, bowl and field like today, then it would be another one-sided match.
 
India is high on confidence too, winning three matches in a row, and rohit has looked pretty good as well
 
2 low score for fakhar so we might expect him to score against india which will be vital for lifting pakistan team

Pak is too strong for India. On top of it, they got momentum after winning against AFG. Pak will win by a huge margin (runs or wickets).
 
I have a feeling India will edge this one but Pakistan will take the Cup. Hope for a nerve wracking match, best of luck to both teams.

This is actually the most sensible thing to do. I mean, we need to find better players than Haris, Faheem and M. Nawaz but for the match I think Amir and Shadab should come in and Usman and Asif Ali should be dropped.

I feel as though M. Nawaz will be our weakness (in terms of bowling) going into this game. The Indian batsmen will slaughter him but I highly doubt we'll drop him considering he took 3 wickets against Afghanistan
 
Will be interesting to see the team India field, i think they will go with same squad that won today vs Bangladesh

Shadab for Asif and Amir for Usman. Baqi same.

good wake up call for long term. Sarfraz should work on is batting like mad and a front line spinner like Raza Hasan is a must in UAE..

Hopefully a repeat of CT and we win 4 matches consecutively and the tournament.

You need to finish Nawaz's quota before the 40th, finish him off in the middle overs.

You're right but we cannot drop captain he is in really bad form. We need a bit more depth in our batting in my opinion.

As these pitches are not helping fast bowlers and Faheem Ashraf is not that bad as a bowler his lines are pretty good.
 
As much as i like Rana Faheem he wont add much value on these pitches. Better to send Raza from Pakistan in place of Junaid or Shan.
 
If I get to see Rayadu or DeeKay in place of KL Rahul on Sunday, I am supporting you guys. I won't mind even getting humiliated

I would be tempted to give Harris another last chance on Asif's expense. On another note anyone knows which pitch they are using new or same?
 
Keep Asif, he will win a game for you,
Drop Harris, he is of no use, the worst fielder, the 2nd most unfit, after Saifi and not a useful batsman
Harsh on Usman, but bring back Amir
Keep Nawaz in and Faheem out

Imo drop usman for amir, Haris for shadab,

Reason to drop Haris, is that I feel we need to play two spinners, will keep Asif in the team for lower order power hitting as insurance, plus Haris is an awful fielder.

Close Calls:

1) Nawaz vs Faheem: tough one, but on these pitches we need a proper spinner. Faheem has the batting and with Harris already in team who can ball his slow left arm, the case for Nawaz is weakened. However, nawaz’s accuracy, ability to ball with new ball and a decent batting for a number 8, he wins vs. Faheem.

2) Faheem vs Hasan Ali: ofcourse Faheem adds more with batting ability but Hasan has the aggression as the bowler. His stats as a odi bowler are excellent too. He does lose the plot at times and ball short which on these pitches are gifts for proper batsmen. At the moment Hasan Ali is able to play as a bowler but if Faheem keeps improving, he will give stiff competition to other fast bowlers.

3) Asif vs Harris Sohail: Asif lacks match awareness and the temperament for odi cricket. I know! It’s too early to make a call but we need a more technically AND MENTALLY sound batsman than Asif. Harris wins.

4) Amir vs shinwari: Shinwari has pace and natural movement due to his wrist position but has no variations like the slowers balls or cutters. Amir has better accuracy and india seems to respect him more which is good and bad at the same time but he still has a mental edge over sharma which might go after a game or two but at the moment, even without his swing, his cricketing mind puts him ahead of shinwari.
 
FGS throw that Usman Lobia Shinwari out of the side, Amir has to comeback.
US ha no temperament knew it ever since the PSL smacking he recieved to Kamran Akmal can't bowl a yorker to save his life.
Shaddy has to comeback in place of Harris.
rest is fine
harsh on fahim but conditions just don't suit him need 2 spinners here
 
Amir and Shadab should come back.

Shinwari reminds me of Umar Gul (Mohali version).

India are the better team and will probably won on Sunday and the final also.

They will chase whatever we score and their bowling attack is far superior to ours.

Even if they made 180, I would back then to bowl us out with our pathetic line up

Good points, however, on the Asif vs Haris argument you cannot really go with the temperament argument since Haris's shot was arguably worse than Asif's. Haris being a proper bat and Pakistan having just lost 2 set batsman had no business playing that garbage shot. His dismissal is what set the cat amongst the pigeons of the Pakistani camp. Before that time we were coasting to victory.

If we are 4 wickets down before 45th over, I would bring in Shadab first then Asif Ali because I think Shadab is a good enough batsman to make a good score.

I don't get the obsession with Haris in this team as I see Babar competing with Haris for the same spot and I don't see a place in that middle order for Haris when Babar is there. Asif Ali can swing big from ball 1 as showed with his huge 6 against Rashid Khan. It is true he got a bit greedy but he can take the game away in the final 2-3 overs if he doesn't get out.

I was split between Amir and UKS since Shaheen has pushed his way into the team but Amir has that X-Factor and a bit of mental game decision against India and UKS lost it with his performance at the death today. If Sarfraz uses Amir in a way that once we crack that top order and get into the middle order, he brings in Amir, the Indian batsmen will be cautious and slowdown which could lead to them giving away their wicket.

Haris had to play that shot, he was struggling to pick Rashid with numerous inside edges, he wouldn’t have survived that long anyways

Today was an anomaly for Haris. Normally the second wicket will fall before the 25th over so he won't have to play that shot. Today he came to bat in the 33rd which isn't his game.
 
With Haris Sohail, I am never confident as I know that a poor shot to get out is just around the corner.

I highly doubt that Shinwari is 100% fit. As things stand, we need a rotation policy for managing the work load of our pacers in the harsh conditions of UAE. So in the light of the fact, I would rest Shinwari and replace him with Junaid. Similarly, I would bring Faheem in place of Hassan Ali because I also saw him struggle today with his ankles and we cannot take any risk with his fitness, keeping in mind the 2019 WC. It would also be unfair to drop Haris Sohail after just one game so keeping that in mind, my 11 would be

-Imam ul Haq can't be dropped after the last game, and he is alright for these tracks. That being said, I still don't rate him highly, he doesn't know how to build a modern inning, and he is going to cost us against the top sides when we play on typical ODI flat tacks.

-Between Haris and Asif, I would have to go with Haris. I think we all celebrated too early when Asif performed in Zimbabwe. The fact is that he has no in-between game, and his List A record is very poor. He was bound to start failing some time or another. I think someone like Hussain Talat is a far better investment at #6, can bowl too.

-Where the batting order is concerned, someone like Haris shouldn't be batting below 4, while there is no way we can have Sarfraz come below 5 as he is a liablity in the later overs. I think Shoaib Malik should be used where he is required rather than giving him a set position. Malik should basically just come in whenever Pakistan feel that they need to glue the innings together, especially during a chase. Malik is perfect for the final 20-25 overs.

-I think it is very clear that Pakistan MUST play two spinners on these tracks, and hence, both Shadab and Nawaz need to play. Haris and Malik are more than capable to fill the third spinner spot.

-Usman was poor against Afghanistan, hasn't really gotten the ball to do anything and wasn't bowling in threatening channels. I also don't think Amir should be played so quickly after benching him, he needs to be sent a message that he is not an automatic pick. Hence, Junaid should be given a game, Hasan and Shaheen should be the other two pacers.

tbf you guys were on your way to losing to hong kong.

It doesnt matter, how Pakistan or India play against others. Pak-India matches will inspire aag regardless.
 
asif Ali should be dropped for shadab khan usman awful shinwari for amir.I would have dropped specialist captain and his buddy nawaz but no options in the squad.

Lol. HK played much better than Pakistan performing in Asia cup. I'll give credit where it's due. But if our damaadji didn't save you, you guys would have lost to a minnow.

Yet you guys struggled.


Afghanistan is a much better team than HK atleast.


But like I said, performances against others are irrelevant when Pak - India play each other.

It's a bit of a gamble with Faheem replacing Haris but batting wise I want to see him progress. Haris, for me, belongs at 4 or 5 so if he were to play he'd have to replace Malik. It's hard to make this XI since Nawaz had his 3fer + the need of a second spinner in these UAE conditions. Shaheen was good last game, but let's be real for a game vs India he'll be replaced with Amir, who seriously needs to turn it up.
