Pakistan vs New Zealand | 3rd Test | Abu Dhabi | Dec 3-7, 2018 | Day 5 Thread

Think NZ will win by 100-125 runs.
If Pak scores these runs, very good effort and they earn their points by beating a superior NZ team in this match.

And a great sporting declaration by KW.

All around, a good cricket match.

They won't be able to block 65/70overs,williamson will choke theses mental midgets getting fielders around the bat.
 
Like I have been saying. Even if we had 40 overs to bat we would be bowled out batting 4th.

This team has got serious mental issues which all stem from the captain.

After losing this series I would like to see Sarfraz removed as captain but won't happen
 
Asad has played his career saving knock already so will get out cheaply when he bats.
 
What should have been a comfortable 3-0 sarfaz has turned into a 2-1 loss!!

Pakistan should look to bat positively, put some fear back into the Kiwi camp so that they switch to defensive mode later on. By positive I mean sensible version of it, not the :afridi version. If they decide to stonewall they will lose, 67 overs is too much with only 8 wickets remaining and Azhar Ali dismissed.

People who support Pakistan but are saying we'll be out in the next couple of hours. Why do you even bother supporting the team? Go watch something else.

Regardless of the result, if this series has shown anything it's that neither side is a top quality side.

They rely too heavily on one or two individuals for their success.
 
We need to bat 3-4 times to chase this. Our batsmen just don't have it
 
I think Sarfraz should promote himself now. Come in early and play a quickfire knock of 40 odd or whatever to help ease the chase
 
The amount of runs all other batsman going to score in this innings had they score in first innings would had effect on the result surely

Pakistan should go for the win here if they want to come over their mental issues. Saving would surely lead them lose the wickets. Playing aggressively will put NZ under pressure and we will have a better chance to win the match. As the great Imran Khan said 'The one who fears the defeat can never achieve great milestones.'

If Imam can play at a strike rate above 40 for the first time in his career maybe we can chase this

Imran Khan says a lot of stuff that doesn't make much sense and most of the stuff that does make sense is him copying stuff from someone else regardless I do agree with you, we should go for the win.
 
There is zero intent to dominate. Zero intent to put some pressure on the bowlers. Not seen the pitch do much, but our batsmen are content on staying back in the crease and nudge around. Both Hafeez and Azhar got out defending rather than confidently playing their shots. Just sums up the muddled mindset this team has at the moment. Pakistan's best chance of surviving today was going for the win, making NZ do something different. You allow bowlers to bowl at you, they will get rid of you by session 2 I'm sure. It's amazing how bad the team management is at reading the situation. Sickening.

Imran Khan's achievements justify what he says.
 
Just to add to the above post, Boult was made to look like an ordinary bowler in the 2nd and 3rd ODIs, when Fakhar bashed the living daylights out of him. Made him do something different.

The likes of Imam, Hafeez and Azhar are just not good enough to do that. They can still try though, and the fact that they are hoping against hope that their puny approach works after a horde of failures, is testament to their lack of thinking capacity.

Agreed. These 3 should be dropped permanently. Specially Imam who can't bat at a strike rate of above 37.
 
Before inzy selected his sisters son, he could have teached him how to play in the V, horrid batsman an opener relying ond dabs to 3rd man to get runs!!

Pakistans negative approach in this series been punished like it deserves. We got away with it in the 2nd test.

That's Pakistan for you. This should be an easy win for NZ. I called it at the start of the innings. Pakistan's only chance of surviving today was if they went all guns blazing and put NZ on the backfoot from the start. Now Pakistan's already mentally fragile batsmen are the equivalent of five year old girls.
 
So how good were Kane and Nicols innings?

Our spinners are doing this, they scored 100s against better spinners and didn't look troubled.
 
2 positives for hosts from this series : they got rid of Hafeez & Yasir's record .
