I don't know, Yesterday I was watching them batting and they were looking a completely different team than the one we played in tests.
 
The field positioning already reaping dividends. Azhar forced to have a wild sweep by getting frustrated.

Well, they have faced some really poor bowling here and the conditions for batting first have been good.
 
Both SL fast bowlers are getting a lot of seam movement. Makes me wonder if we have a skills shortage within our fast bowlers? They were bowling gun barrel straight deliveries.

Their bowlers have been willing to pitch it up, which Hasan aside, our bowlers aren't doing consistently enough.
 
Ball reversing for Lakmal. Quite significantly. If he had more pace, he would have caused a lot of problems.
 
Herath looks such a mazeydaar bowler.
 
Azhar was doing a fine job as an opener but to accomodate a sifaaarshi azhar was brough down to 3.


Pakistan should try and groom a pace all rounder like fahim ashraf or amir yamin as the sixth batsman.

I don't understand the issue of Azhar batting at 1 down,he is the best bat of Pak anyway,better to save him from first 10 overs,Pak should get :shehzad and make him open.
 
Waqar infuriating me here. Saying Azhar is an opener which is correct, but why did you keep him at number 3 for all of your coaching tenure? :facepalm:

In the 1st Test he was saying Azhar is fine at 3 and it is his preferred position, only for Azhar to come out and say that he has no preference and will bat anywhere.

That's typical Waqar. He will say different things off the field and do different things on the field. But will always be there to take credit of the positives.

In fact all Pakistanis coaches are like this. Whenever in the PCB they do nothing and in the commentary box they sound like World Cup wining coaches.
 
Great bowling from Lakmal, shows what pitching the ball up can do even on a pitch like this.
 
Shafiq needs to be kicked out now. Have given up on him completely as he's just hopeless.
 
Damn, I think we needed to get to a 100 for no loss or at least one down to give confidence of mounting a huge total. Looks unlikely now, but there's still hope!
 
That was a terrific delivery to be honest. Came in in the air and then seamed away.
 
Shafique's Aus knocks looks like it was played without the pressure,somehow Pak performs well(as a team) only when there is less expected out of them.
 
Almost all of us said here that playing Shan and placing Shafiq at 4 will be a disaster but management coudn't recognize it.

This should be the last series for Asad and Shan.

Yea the seniority curse which also kept reviving Hafeez's career. It's like cancer in the Pakistani set up. Instead of selecting the best they select the eldest.

One of the worst investments in past few decades by any side.

Cant believe people wanted him to play all 3 formats and "experts" on tv bashing and abusing selectors for ignoring him in LOIs.
 
Shafiq should be kicked out as well!!!! Too many passengers in the team. How can we win a test with these players

Sadly he isnt going anywhere in the next year due to 'experience'.
 
Pretty depressing to hear that your number 4 batsman feels too much pressure to play against a transitioning Lankan side.
 
Thes two need to build a solid 100+ runs partnership. For that babar has to deliver a good performance for once.
 
Using feet and coming down the ground is very effective against SL spinners. Azhar doing it now and Dhawan and Pujara did it recently.
 
Golden boy struggling to short pitch bowling in Dubai better bowlers on more bouncier wicket will eat him alive.
 
By seeing our poor batting, we will loose ODI series by 4-1 or even 5-0 as well
