Wow, taking a bowler off after his first over...

....

Ok, 3/6 deliveries were extremely bad, but why remove him from the bowling???

Because one more loose over to Jaya and he'l be on his way to a big one.

Tanvir neads support from the other end and the decision to bowl might not look half bad.

Same delivery as his first one it seems

nice...need to keep the pressure from both ends ...right now tanvir is keeping the pressure but the other bowlers are failing to do so

So the bad decision on the first ball of the innings didn't cost much :)

Rao sucks.

Roa constrictor works under the radar, but he usually does a good job. I would just give him the edge over wahab right now.

Maybe, but he's got no pace, no guile, no passion. Its almost like Razzaq all over again.

Another wide.

Who is aamir sohail talking about? "He been out of sorts, hes put on weight..."

So would I.....It is important to prefer the experience of Rao and then build pressure on Sri Lanka

Tanvir struggling with his line to the right hander
He does always.... it seems to me

He has great swing, but no control of it for many of his deliveries.

He always sprays down many wides.

But then again, Wasim also used to bowl quite some wide balls :P

Ive seen him bowl 88, 89 mph. He is a sedate bowler like razzaq, not quite as lifeless though.

Jayawardene doesn't look good.

Need Jaya or Sanga out before they get set. These two can get a LONG partnership.

But he just runs in and hits those half-trakkers over again.

Good stuff from Tanvir but for God's sake stop bowling wides.

I thought that Sohail Tanvir could also bowl the inswinger to the right hander. Haven't seen much of that yet....does he have that ability?

Down the legs and four more against rao. He also has a point to prove if he wants to stay in the team.

Tanvir keeps so hard to keep things down, and then we get this from Roa.

Tanvir will turn into a fine, world class opening bowler for Pakistan in time, he dosent require pace, what he requires is accuracy,

I have seen him be immensely accurate so this is not impossible for him, any track with even a hint of movement and Tanvir will be dangerous.

I don't see the point of Rao. He's meant to be a line and length bowler who usually gets it wrong at least once an over.

He's like Sami. He doesn;t have to prove anything.

Keep in mind that Lanka has the strongest bowlers in this tournament!

Pakistan are off to a good start removing the dangerous Jayasuriya early. Pakistan need to get these two out asap, if one of these two get going they can potentially get a really big score.

You see it now? I've been raving about it since the start of the Tri-Series.

ooh thick outside edge by jaya. That was a terrible shot by him, and i think beaten by extra bounce. Need to get him out.

Rao is doing a decent enough job. Very underrated bowler.
Didn;t you read what Sheikh said?

"Gets it wrong at least once an over"

Which kills it.

Too many wides from Tanvir.

Thats the thing, if the track doesn't have movement tanvir doesn't look threatening. But he's an ideal opening bowler on a moving track.

Its unbelieveable that we have a fast bowler as coach and we bowl 5 wides in first five overs.

We really need a wicket from Tanvir before he finishes, because after that, there's no guarentee as to what the others will come up with.

Tanvir is all over the place. Rao is bowling much better at the moment.

Run rate is too high. We need another wicket with the new ball... and then afridi will take care of the rest. :afridi

Yeah but thats true for most if not all bowlers except for the super fast or supper accurate.

Look at how ****** poor india's bowlers have looked.

If the track is flat you either need to be fast and hostile OR very very accurate, Tanvir is a dangerous bowler and if he can maintain his length and line on a flat track he will continue to pick up wickets

The pressure of required run rate might be to Pakistan's disadvantage.

Average over by Tanvir. I agree with Waqar; Sohail should have stayed over the wicket to the right hander. The ball slanting across would have guaranteed a few dot balls and perhaps some pokes by Mahela.

I think we'll handle that fine, as we showed when we chased 310 odd against you guys. We had a reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally slow start.

Yes only the top class bowlers can pick wickets on most tracks. Im used to seeing wasim, waqar, akhtar open the bowling but we don't have anyone like that.
