I will not write him off based on his batting today.

I'm not writing him off, I'm basing my judgements of having watched him play since his debut (4 years ago). Prior to the commencement of this tournament, I have maintained he's overrated on PP, where posters have made him out to be an elite batsman, when he isn't.

I have much more optimism on him in red ball cricket, because he's a far better prospect in the longer format. He has a great chance to make a name for himself during the away SENA tours. If he can become a more accomplished player of spin, I expect a further increase in his test average to 50+.
