He swung some in first over of warm up against Afghan. Boult was swinging becz he had ideal condition. Amir is not bowling full enough. He needs to find length just. He wrist position seam position etc are absolutely fine. I hope our bowling coach can help him. Watch his first over in CT final. He was bowling perfect length which allowed ball to swing a little. A little bit movement is enough for him.

Your loyalty is admirable. But i would bench a player after the last few peformaces he put in. Didnt vary his line or length or pace. Didnt bowl any bouncers or yorkers. Just bowled back of a length - hit me balls. He would be at the bottom of the pecking order for me.
 
This will be a good game. West Indies aren't a pushover. If their batting clicks they can trouble any team. Pakistan bowling has struggled recently and hasn't been able to pick wickets.
 
Need to emulate India TBH for this match.They always nuetralize these so called big hitters with proper planning

I preferred watching Mark Waugh bat over Sachin. I still think Mark Waugh is the most classiest batsman ever. So yeah in my eyes Fakhar >>>> Guptill (Guptill always kinda bashes us :shakib )

I doubt both Malik and Hafeez will play, or atleast I hope our management won't be so thick that they will leave Haris on the bench.

Because if these pitches are roads then economy is just as good as wickets, and if Shaheen has been going for over 7 runs an over with a few wickets then a 5 odd economy is better from a bowler like Amir, this is based on his economy in the last 2 years which was posted on the forums
 
If pakistan don't win this match, their chance of making the semis will be close to none. This is coz instead of beating 2 out of the top 5 teams they'll have to beat 3 which is unlikely.
Best case scenario is that pak beat wi and then hope eng have a bad day and then beat them too. If that happens pak will more likely than not make the semis.

Also won't be everyday when the opposition drops the trophy like Sri Lanka did or bowl no balls, the latter that some fans have a hard time swallowing, how Bumrah's no ball probably gave us the match and we wouldn't even be playing the semi finals if Sarfaraz wasn't dropped.

Teams will take the World Cup seriously and won't give any chances like that

That's just how the game is. What if sachin wasn't dropped 5 times?
What if Allan Donald actually took the single in '99?
 
The thing is if we win against Windies we will get a base to make it to the semis.

So we shouldn’t lose this one...
 
Need to bowl first if we win the toss as we have been chasing slightly better than we are defending but more importantly even if there is a little bit of rain during the match and D/L system comes into play its always better to know your targets.

Yes we can chase up to 300 because Imam and Babar are good enough to stay at the crease and other need to play around them
 
This guy Cottrell gives me the heebee jeebies.. with his pace and bounce, it’s the perfect nightmare for Pakistan. If he plays, Pakistan will likely struggle against him.

Hassnain has performed way better than hassan Ali in last few matches wahab preferred over shaheen due to experience and when haris can bowl few overs as a left arm bowler than imad should make way for shadab khan ....i would have love to go for asif ali instead of malik but experience matters at the moments .
 
200 up in less than 25 overs against the kiwi attack...we better get our act together with the ball on Friday...
 
WI is another team who on their day can match any team for blow to blow. They have in abundance what Pakistan so desperately lack. POWER HITTERS.

I like this team however I will put Hassan Ali back in the team in placeof hasnain. His experience can come in handy. The thing I like about this team is that everyone can bat.
 
Windies will be high confidence after this game. Pakistan's first game will be crucial to them. Going on the backfoot at the start of the tournament won't work well for Pakistan and if they are in a situation where they have to play catch up.
 
If the pitch and conditions are 350-par, Pakistan are toast.

There is no strategy to counter WI in such conditions.

Pakistan has to pray for overcast conditions and winning the toss.
 
I was a bit skeptical regarding wi's batting. But they've absolutely smashed the kiwis. Pak are playing them on the highest scoring ground in the world and that too on a fresh pitch. I'm finding it hard to believe how pak will win.

I am more afraid of West Indies than India.
they disadvantge about West Indies, is the number of left handers mean malik and hafeez will be bowling alot of overs.

pace off the ball is more difficult to hit, than imad wasims darts. in fact fast bowling is a disadvantge as the ball just travels to the boundary faster these days.
look at locke ferguson, an excellent fast bower, getting smashed just like shaheen and hasnain have been.

Windies are the dark horses for world cup they have explosive players every where and their bowling is balanced i think just missing narine which was criminal not be picked
 
Pakistan should field first if win the toss. Restrict them to 350. We can chase 350 on Trent Bridge i believe.
 
need to open the bowling with hafeez..use our spinners..drop shaheen he is cannon fodder at the moment..play amir wahab hasan..thats a helluva score though..
 
Funny how some people were thinking WI will be an easy game until yesterday. I’ve said it a month ago, WI have more chance of reaching semis than Pak. They have the batting line up to reach semis.

WI are going to crush Pakistan this week. The manner of the expected loss will demoralise the team for the rest of the tournament.

The losses against them in the 2004 CT, 2007 WC and 2015 WC were all against the odds, but this time round it will be as per expectations.

In Sha Allah, I am wrong on Friday and I will be rejoicing the win with you and the prediction turns out to be a great blunder of mine.

BUT

I see no hope and no basis for any optimism, unless you enlighten me with your false sense of confidence, so I would rather be wary of that, since it closely resembles to what we saw from you prior to the Asia Cup last year.
 
Even Windies pacers are pretty good,it's just that they are missing a quality spinner.One thing is for sure, their matches are going to be entertaining.Tough match coming up on Friday.

After seeing these 2 games India vs Bangladesh and windies vs Newzeland .
I no longer Have Any Problem with our bowling lineup. Newzeland Conceded 421 And they have like The 2nd best bowling lineup in WC After SA
On these Tracks Bowlers are not at fault.
PAKISTAN should Bowl First in every world Cup Maycht out batting lineup is capable of chasing Targets .

Take out Shadab and replace him with Asif, because he's a real liability with bat and ball.

Pacers can bowl 25-30 overs and the remaining spin overs can be distributed between Imad, Hafeez and Haris/Fakhar.

Kiwis didn't bowled well. Henry and Ferguson were poor today.
