Because Waqar's mind is in Australia so its obvious both Sami and Anwar will be selected for SL
 
I think Mir Hamza or Zia Ul Haq should be given a chance in Sri Lanka they already have played against Sri Lanka A recently and will be familiar with the conditions

This is the 1000th time I've seen you post this. Our bowling has always been dependent on Ajmal and to an extent Hafeez. Our pace bowling has been dead for atleast 5 years. This was bound to happen on flat pitches after Ajmal's ban.
 
Really happy to see Yasir do so well (and take his own catch, easy as it is, not easy for our side).

Had some veryyyy close lbws go against him too.
 
Au contraire, the bowling unit on this lifeless track is looking pretty good. Yasir Shah is looking the real deal, Wahab is pitching it right today, opening spell from Sami was spot on.

Wickets are a problem but so is the pitch. You can't have Wasim and Imran every generation to take the pitch out of the equation. For that, we hope we have Aamir!

Not fussed with the Hafeez and Yasir taking cheap wickets, I am concerned with the toothless new ball bowling which is the worst in the world at the moment, and the fact that our only hope is a bowler who will be returning to the team after 5 years sums it up.

Playing Anwar is not the excuse, the alternative is Junaid and he's crap with the new ball too.

Really don't look forward to our bowling anymore.

Rahat Ali should have been persisted instead of Anwar

Rahat Ali can be a good option for the new ball.
 
We have been so reliant on Ajmal's darts that we haven't been fussed with our pace attack for years. Unfortunately Yasir is no Ajmal - yes he's not a cheat but his legal bowling is nowhere near the former's illegal bowling, which is why we badly need some bite in our pave attack.

Amir will be back by October
Junaid should be persisted with agree that he is crap with new ball but he is a brilliant bowler in death overs which we are lacking..

We need first choice players- we were decent in the world cup- more than decent actually. I only remember us defending sub par totals. And there was no Ajmal/Hafeez. Afridi was crap

Chips can flip pretty quickly, if both Amir and Asif are back, Pakistan new ball bowling can go from worst in the world to the best in an year. 5 fielders in last 10 (ICC is serious about it), death bowling can be much better.

No matter what PCB has done terrible job in developing fast bowling. Pakistan is going back in time (before Imran) when military medium tundlers were norm. Now you don't see fast bowlers in domestic circuit. This is one of the biggest disappointment.

I don't know where Pakistan is going with packing team with completely useless tundlers, this is no way to move up from no 9 position.

Over reliance on the trio of Ajmal, Afridi and Hafeez since Amir and Asif were banned has really stagnated our pace bowling. Amir will be back but Asif has shown little interest in resuming his career.
 
No need to bowl hamamf here...raza traitor is struggling against throw to bowl to harris or hafeex
 
I don't understand when the management decided to stop bowling Haris btw? It seemed like we were determined to groom him into and all rounder and then suddenly just decided he wouldn't get any overs.

Yeah, quite disappointing seeing as he had the knack of picking up wickets.

It is not about wickets
The way he is bowling, it is pretty clear that he lacks in quality. Even anwar Ali is better than him

He does the job once we can get rid of anwar and malik ...he can share 5th bowler overs with hafeez and harris ...but can't expect him to bowl 10 overs

Maybe best to wait till the attack bowls on something other than a surfboard of a pitch. Not many bowling attacks other than Australia would find something resembling dignity here. Remember even Zimbabwe bowlers looking good in some matches in Australia.

No fan of Anwar but Sami, Aamir, Rahat, Wahab and Yasir could be good for a few years with Sohail Khan substituting where needed. No world beaters but skilled enough to hold their own. And who knows who emerges next.
 
Look at the opposition as well, these excuses don't work for me.

U can't accept this sort of bowling from a so called all rounder.

Plus, his hitting is overrated and u will get to see that if he gets persisted with.

Wasim would have knocked two down in his first spell, but Waqar would have been less useful with two new balls and no bottle caps. Still can't compare him to this garbage lot.
