Faf is a great host - few of our Asian Captains should learn from him.

We bossed them.
Congrats pakistan for winning 4-1.
A whitewash would have given SA a bad image.
RESPECT

Imam is MOS!!! That should just shut everybody for a while

Moral victories. Faf doesn't mind if Pakistan takes moral victory here. For him, 3-2 series victory is all what he wants. :salute

Yeah because individual awards matter so much more than team performance right

:salute :salute :salute

Klusener was the MoS of 99WC, I bet he would trade that in 10 times out of 10 just to go back and not go for that fated run.

Amidst the doom and gloom (and a few Pakistani fans forgetting their place), this was actually not a bad result at the end of the day. Pakistan was expected to get whitewashed in the ODI series aswell, and this team has more than held its own. The last ODI was total domination by South Africa, but the first four ODIs were competitive and a pleasant surprise to most of us, who saw Pakistan shell an important game to a second string Bangladesh and almost lose a game to Afghanistan.

This team will blow hot and cold, but it has a very good chance of making it to the semis in the WC. From there, it's all about fluking it :sarf2

This is a series no one will remember in a month. WHen was the last time a Pak opener was MOS in SENA? Did that ever happen actually?

As a Pak fan I am happy with the way the Pak played in the series overall. We can build on this in England before the World Cup. Good on Faf to point out how well Pak played.

SA has unearthed a good middle order player against spin. Van dessen. Phelu made great strides in this series. Steyn is on his last legs.

In other words "bossing" :afridi

South Africa rested their core players, handed out debuts, tried out various fringe players and still won the series without too much fuss.

Faf's comments are more directed at his own team and trying to motivate them, rather than complimenting Pakistan.

But I guess when you keep losing, its important to look for silver linings in all the clouds.

Plain rubbish!

Plain rubbish!

Clearly you don't have much experience of cricket captaincy. What would you want to say to your team when they have a sub-par performance against a weaker opponent (from SA perspective) and manage to escape with a victory?

It is obvious that today's game was more lost by Pakistan, than won by SA.

How do you communicate to them that this type of win shouldn't paper over the cracks, and they have a lot of work to do? By publicly making such comments so that the players are under overt pressure to pull up their performances.

SA are looking distinctly vulnerable at the moment. They definitely need to get their **** together. No wonder Faf said as much.

Reminds me of a certain "legendary" batsman

Pakistan choked under pressure. Both these sides are the masters of choking but Pakistan are much worse. At 120 in 20 overs, the team just scored 240 at the end and the players could not deal with the crunch moments and pressure.

Syed1 and Hasan123 stop the personal attacks.

What a weird statement to make after winning 3-2! With the crap cricket we played we probably should have lost 4-1 to be honest; the game where Amla screwed SA was a big gift to Pak.

I kind of feel we attacked too much and too early in today’s game when defending. 240 was not a bad score.

Good progress made and frankly I'm not worried about the loss because it would've covered over our brittle middle order. We definitely need Haris at 4. I'm also interested to see if Shan can translate his LA form into ODIs. He's really high on confidence right now, he simply has to play the next game. Malik and Hafeez both cannot play, only one.

Imam is MOS!!! That should just shut everybody for a while

Yes, great to see Imam finally getting the credits and recognition he deserves.

Ontopic: Both teams played well, always good to watch a closely contested series. Good sportsmanship from Faf and usual bhangra from PP experts.

Pakistan again gained nothing from this series in terms of team selection while SA tried their players and now know that Van Der Dussen is going to the World Cup barring a severe slump in form in the next 6 months. Also they probably have discarded Duanne Olivier and Beuran Hendricks from their plans. What did Pakistan learn??
