ISLAMABAD: The Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser along with the ruling and opposition members of the National Assembly will play for Pakistan in the Inter-Parliamentary Cricket Tournament scheduled in the United Kingdom from July 8 to 15.

The Parliamentarians from 8 countries (of teams taking part in the World Cup) will play the Cricket Tournament to be held alongside the ICC Cricket World Cup, said a press release issued here on Thursday.

To ensure participation of a well–prepared team, the NA Speaker has involved Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for training the parliamentarians.

He has appointed Makhdoom Zain Hussain Qureshi, MNA as Convener of the Parliamentary cricket team of Pakistan who carries a cricketing experience both at university and district levels.

The Chairman PCB Ehsan Mani has nominated the former test cricketer Mudassar Nazar, Director (Academy) in the PCB as the focal point for preparing the Parliamentary Cricket Team.

The 47 young Members of the National Assembly will join their Initial Assessment and Training Camp to be set in the Shalimar Cricket Ground, Islamabad from April 16, 2019 for one week.

Thereafter, the parliamentarians will play friendly matches among them till the end of April 2019 so that a befitting team could be selected to take part in the exciting and first–of–its–kind tournament.

The PCB has finalized the schedule of the parliamentarians’ initial assessment and training camp under the supervision of its coaches.

India will certainly claim DRS is wrong, the ball was hitting the stumps not wide off the target. :yk

Imran should play.

Although it’s a shame Pakistan will be missing their star batsman.

29 MNAs appear for trials for Inter-Parliamentary Cricket

ISLAMABAD - Total 29 out of 47 MNAs below age 45 turned up at Shalimar Cricket Ground on Tuesday for trials for the selection of Pakistani Parliamentarians cricket team for the first-ever Inter-Parliamentary Cricket Tournament scheduled to be held in England from July 8 to 15 this year.

Zain Qureshi is the convener of Pakistani Parliamentarians cricket team, while well-known cricket administrator Shakil Shaikh, who is also IRCA President, is coordinating the parliamentarians team in Islamabad. PCB top class coaches Sabih Azhar, Taimoor Azam and Ayaz Akbar Yousfai conducted the trials, which will continue till April 23 at Shalimar ground.

In his book, Imran mentions this heroic moment, when Mian Nawaz Sharif walked in to open against the west indies pace battery, without any protection. He compared it to a primary school kid trying to write a PhD thesis. Sadly the innings lasted only two balls, but that show of courage by Sharif shook Imran and inspired him to greater things.

This should be Indian playing XI:

Sachin Tendulkar
Navjot Siddhu
Chowkidaar Arun Jaitley

It's believed after he took on the West Indies pacers, Marshall, Holding and Garner were never the same again.

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan’s parliamentarians cricket team captain Makhdoom Zain Hussain Qureshi Wednesday looked highly satisfied with the training of his parliamentarians at Shalmiar Cricket Ground and said like their great captain Imran Khan, they will return as the first-ever Inter-Parliamentary Cricket Tournament-2019 champions from England.

Currently around 30 parliamentarians are training hard to get a place in the Pakistan team at Shalimar Cricket Ground who will play in the 8-nation Inter-Parliamentary Cricket Tournament, which is scheduled to be held in England from July 8 to 15 this year.

Talking to The Nation Zain said: “It is not government or opposition cricket team; it is team of Pakistan’s elected parliament, who will participate in the event and will play like one-unit. It would be a good show of cricket diplomacy as we will meet the honourable members of seven other participating nations. British PM has also invited us to 10-Downing Street. We will plead Pakistan’s case at every possible forum and let me assure all that as ambassadors of Pakistan, we will ensure like we are visiting England, they will in return come and play in Pakistan.”

He said the visit will give us chance to discuss important issues at the sidelines as we are going to meet each other several times during and after the tournament. “Believe me, our members are taking keen interest and are very serious and passionate. They are training for hours even during the National Assembly sessions. We are training for last week or so and looking at the involvement of members, we have decided to continue training during the holy month of Ramazan as well under lights.”

“I am highly grateful to Pakistan Cricket Board for providing us with top level coaches and off course to Islamabad Regional Cricket Association President SHakil Shaikh, who is a well-known cricketing brain in not only Pakistan but in the world cricket as well. The way Sabih Azhar, Taimoor Azam and Ayaz Akbar are working hard on not only our mantel but also physical training, it is truly remarkable. We have some highly good talented players, who will defiantly help the team in best possible manner. We train in two sessions, first we play in the nets and then we focus on our physical fitness.”

Pakistan win the cricket world cup — but not the one you think

Pakistan may have failed to make it to the semifinals of the coveted ICC Cricket World Cup, but the country's lawmakers fared better than their counterparts from six other countries to win the first Inter-Parliamentary Cricket World Cup in London on Friday.

The four-day tournament had begun on Tuesday with lawmakers from Pakistan, England, Australia, New Zealand, India, Bangladesh and Afghanis*tan taking to the field.

As many as 25 members of parliament, led by Makhdoom Zain Hussain Qureshi, son of Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, represented Pakistan in the event.

After legislators from the other participating nations failed to advance with their sporting prowess, it was down to Pakistan and Bangladesh to vie for the title.

The Bangladesh parliamentary team managed to score 104 runs at the loss of eight wickets in their overs.

Pakistan began their chase on a strong note, reaching 41-1 at the end of seven overs.

A 20-run knock from an over put the Green Shirts firmly in charge as the match proceeded. And thanks to a splendid display by Federal Minister for Kashmir affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, who put 52 runs not out on the scoreboard, Pakistan proceeded to win the final by nine wickets with eight overs to spare.

Chris Heaton-Harris, a British Member of Parliament who organised the tournament, had termed Pakistan as the favourites to lift the trophy, saying they had been in training camps for quite some time with their national coach.

The announcement of the 25-member Pakistan cricket team had drawn criticism on social media with people saying that despite austerity measures taken by the PTI government and imposition of heavy taxes on the citizens, the government was sending the parliamentarians’ cricket team to London.

The led the National Assembly Secretariat to issue a statement and say that the expenses on account of transportation to the UK, accommodation and other costs would be borne by the team members and the managerial staff.

“This decision has been taken keeping in view the ongoing austerity measures adopted by parliament and other government departments in order to lessen burden on public exchequer,” the statement had said.

Taking to Twitter, former finance minister Asad Umar congratulated the parliamentary team on their victory and reminded the nation that the lawmakers had travelled to participate in the tournament "not at taxpayers cost".

The team was selected by the Pakistan Cricket Board after an assessment on the field while playing friendly matches with cricket clubs and departmental teams in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

I thought you WERE a intelligent guy. But sad to see you are just being a 12 years old kid.

Without going through facts, without checking the authenticity you are sharing this FAKE image here with happiness.

Have some shame Munafiq.
