From the stats it is clear that the only two batsmen who stand out are Babar Azam and Sarfaraz Ahmed.

I have not included performance against minnows as the performance against them can falsely boost stats.

Recently a lot of discussion in the forum pertained to who gets to be retained in the team versus who needs to be shown the door. That's why I made this thread so we can get a clearer picture.

TTF Malik exposed. Idk why some people still want him in the team.

Sharjeel's numbers don't look all that great to be honest considering how hyped he is.

So Sarfraz "not an LOI player" Ahmed was our best ODI batsmen in overseas conditions last year by far - with an average of 53 and SR of 91.

Overall last year he averages 61 at a SR of 93, and hit the second most boundaries out of anyone in our team (42), yet apparently he's a 90s player. The facts couldn't be more clear.

Meanwhile, Shoaib Malik's record is very ordinary, averaging 32 from 8 innings, and yet this is the same batsmen half of PP think is indispensable.

Lol at Sarfaraz haters when he is right up top on that list.

Can't take PP experts seriously.

Sarfraz has a role in our odi team no doubt . But it not as a number 6 or 7. If he bats there you will see why he has his doubters.

What these stats don't show you I'd that Sarfraz can't clear the boundary at will during the end of the innings.

But at 4 or 5, Sarfraz is a must in our team as he can rotate the strike. Something which we have struggled to do. Also his ability to play spin well shouldn't be understimated. Compare to previous eras, our spin playing ability has gone down dramatically.

There needs to be a balance when judging Sarfraz, his haters go over the top by saying he is useless, etc. Whilst his fans will act like he is a revolutionary and our saviour. He's a good batsmen when played in the role I mentioned and as a captain he is good tactically and knows how to use his bowling options well.

He is one of the best middle order batsmen in LO in Pakistan and certainly the best captain.

Would he get into the other top teams in odis? Probably not so by Pakistan standards, he's earned his place as batsmen and captain.
