Since 2019, our players have played against Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa and this includes the PSL and the revamped domestic structure.

The confidence with which Shaheen, Shadab, Babar, Rizwan are now playing against India on the biggest stage ie Sharma, Kohli, Shami, Bhumra is not surprising.

India has had the edge against Pakistan because of the non stop competitive cricket they get to play nonstop at home, abroad against the best teams in the world at home abroad not to mention 13 years of IPL exposure.

This shows continuous non stop cricket against the best eventually rubs off and shines on the player

Some really excellent points and not to forget the excellent national T20 championship after the cancellation of the NZ tour. The only troubling thing with that championship was the appalling level of fielding

There is no need of all these stories and fantasies.

The problem with Pakistani fans is that they over-analyze victories and tend to look too deeply into them.

We heard the same after the Champions Trophy Final. We were told that Sarfraz is the greatest Pakistani captain since Imran, Fakhar is the new Saeed Anwar against India, this generation of Pakistani fans will not be overwhelmed by India etc. etc., but then all of that blew into pieces as India smashed Pakistan over the next 3 ODIs.

Pakistan did not win yesterday because they have played a lot of cricket against good sides over the past 2 years,

they did not win because we now have 2 teams in domestic cricket to cater to a 200 million people,

They did not win because of Imran Khan or Ramiz Raja or because someone sneezed - they triumphed because they won a very favorable toss and played better cricket on the day. There is nothing more to it.

Had India bowled first, they could have won at a canter with Pakistan limping to 140-150 with the ball not coming onto the bat and Indian batsmen exploiting the favorable conditions later on like Babar and Rizwan. That’s all.

We are no different than the team that lost to england. Yes we played great cricket last night. Yes the team had a different energy that we had never seen before. But our problems still exist.

Whats funny is, most of you people were against rizwand and babar opening and wanted u fit sharjeel in the team and fakahar to open.

The fact that the guy who made our batting better was forcefully resigned as coach shows we still dont know what we are doing.

I hope we win yhe world t20, but knowing pakistan cricket it will make us all go blind of our problems.

Rameez raja would be hailed as a hero who has ruined everything he touched

Let me also add that based on the national t20 people had even claimed that rizwan was not in form... People used every excuse to get him moved from his position.

Point is you guys yourself are not even sure about the team.

You sound more hurt than me and my whole family. Take some rest.

Competitive, regular cricket is important. Was it the reason the match was won? No, but it was part of it. If Eng and NZ had toured, a bunch of guys in the squad would have sat on their backsides for a month. The tours were cancelled and almost everyone got a chance to play the national cup, they have come into the tournament strong, fit and focused as a result.

Do you look at the conditions when Pakistan lose to India?

We made no mistakes yesterday and we won. Simple as that. Indians made mistakes and we made them pay full toll for it. I hope we make enough mistakes, rectify them and go into the knockouts with even better confidence.

A golden era of professionalism in Pakistan cricket has dawned

Beating India in a World cup is one thing but the manner in which Pakistan beat India was scary to be honest. No funny business with fingernails, bent arm nonsense :ajmal2 etc. Just solid planning and players executing the plans like seasoned pros going about their business with just their objectives in mind.

"Jazba", "Daler" "Cornered Tigers", "talent" etc. are all labels of the past now. pakistan cricket has finally evolved.

Oh bas karo yar :)))

I know this match will be remembered for Akshay’s panauti laugh but that doesn’t mean we have won the World Series or Super Bowl! We are light years behind with our toxic management!!

Give it a few more consistent performances.

But yes, this win should be a step up for the team in the right direction.

Do the basics right, stay focused, be prepared, and you will make the most of the opportunities you get.

Sure feels like a beginning of something amazing. Sometimes it takes one event to change history.

Saying someone is an india poster gets your comment deleted ? How is that inflammatory?? Lol

with yesterday's ruthless victory, Pakistan is going to change the world order in cricket....they look really strong and professional now...they now look like Ponting's Australia in ICC events....invincible !!

Nice to see you're keeping a level head and not getting carried away with a single win in the group stages.

I remember the 1992 world cup, west indies thrashed us by 10 wickets, looked what happened then....they didnt even make semis

Side note pak made 220 that night in 50 overs, and only lost 2 wickets. I think it must be a record only 2 wickets lost in an entire one day match!!!!!!!

The same way India won 2 warm up matches prior to this game?
