Pakistan's alarmingly low run-rates in the 10-over powerplay in ODIs

That was 15 overs was simply not good enough absolutely no intend of rotating the strike or using thier feet.

They were going at a run-rate of 1.73 for the first 6-7 overs. That is poor in modern day ODI.

I think one of the openers needs to go for shots.

Everyone knows imam was looking to bat whole inns at snails pace for a selfish hundred? once he got to end off his inns he would have played a few shots snd his fan boys would have accepted it. instead the Parchi got out early after blocking for no reason.

Something which definitely needs to improve if Pak needs to become a consistent team in ODIs. I understand Pak is too dependent upon top 3 but, then most sides are however that shouldn’t stop you from playing some proactive cricket by putting the bad balls away as well as putting the pressure on the opposition teams.

That’s really true! It’s safe, until it’s not. Usually it feels like they are playing with the same template regardless of the pitch or ground conditions, wickets in hand or the opposition when batting first. As in they don’t really go for it even if it’s batting friendly conditions against weaker oppositions. Then when it’s needed, you can’t shift gears to 350-400 run scores without practice—it has to be a state of mind thing.

If we could find a decent and reliable Middle order then it may be worth letting Babar open the batting with an all out hitter. Our play still resembles cricket from 15 years ago.

Another example today in the 3rd ODI

No idea if Pakistan want to play like that or simply are incapable.

Looks like they are incapable and mentally dont want to be positive. pathetic batting.

Pakistan struggled to build momentum in their chase of 321, suffering one of their worst starts in Champions Trophy history.
