So this decade is about to end, and I thought about the best performances series for Pakistan in test cricket in this period.

1) Number one has to be the 3-0 whitewash of no.1 English side in the UAE in 2012. The same English side then drew in Sri Lanka 1-1 and won in India 2-1 in the same year.

2) 2nd has to be epic 2-0 whitewash of the Aussies in 2014, thereby giving Pakistan their first series win against them in 20 years. Aussies came to UAE after winning Ashes 5-0 and beating the no.1 ranked South Africa 2-1 in their backyard. Yet they were completely demolished in this series.

3) I think 3rd should be the 2-2 draw in England in 2016, which later gave Pakistan the no.1 test ranking.

4) I think fourth has to be 2-1 series win in Sri Lanka. We were losing there for three consecutive series in the previous tours and it was good to finally beat them in 2015.

5) For me its is the 1-0 series win in New zealand in 2011, which by the way is the last time Pakistan won a test series against New zealand.

For me its not in the top 5. Maybe 6th, coz winning in the Caribbean is no big deal these days.

To be honest these are the only few series victories that we have collected in this decade. Otherwise, I can't remember any other series that we have won.

Its no coincidence that all the above mentioned series were captained by Misbah. Pakistan's greatest test captain since Imran Khan.

Only team against whom we didn't win a series this decade is South Africa. We drew two(2010,2013 in UAE) and lost two (2013,2019). All the other teams were beaten fair and square.

Series win in WI is one of their bigger achievements this decade but not among the best performance considering the opposition strength

This sounds a bout right. The 2016 series was great, and it actually felt like we won the series as we celebrated the final test win and independence day.

All series led greatly by Misbah ul haq, in which he lead the way with the bat as well, yet some people on this forum think he is the worse thing to happen to Pakistan cricket.

A mixed decade for Pakistan. Some good performances but some were disappointment. Hopefully, better performances is expected as the team looks better for the next few years, particularly in Australia and SA,during the next decade.

I own't argue on it too much as i twas an exceptional series by Pakistan, even better than them beating England fresh off Ashes 05. I just think they came to England in 2016 low on resources, old age catching up to Misbah and Younis, a returning Amir and an unheralded Shah.

New zealand haven't beaten Australia in a test series since 34 years. They are also yet to win a test series against South Africa, losing all the series to them in this decade. Pakistan has beaten Australia twice in this decade, also drew with SA twice.
Between Pakistan and Sri Lanka it is close.SL won in SA and England but were unable to win in West Indies and New zealand. Rest I agree.
