The solution to this by captain, coach and cheif selector? Keep picking most of these failures.

The problem is the middle 3. Even Sarfraz with 27.26 isn’t the worst, as long as he keeps well (but FGS - resign from Captaincy, both in Test & ODI). Babar & Haris’s numbers are not that bad actually, particularly Babar, who has 5 innings in SAF with similar average. Even, I can give Imam a benefit of doubt considering his age (though today’s display was something to remember- 4 innings to score 43!!!!), but the senior 2 has absolutely to excuses.

Next Test is 8 months away and I am sure everything will be forgotten by then - they’ll be retained as experienced heads and taken to Australia for their experience.

Shafiq and Imam should be dropped Azhar can only open from now on Akmal and Fawad/Saud should come in to bolster the middle order:

Azhar
Shan
Haris
Saud
Akmal
Babar
Sarfraz

Not great when the two seniors are not even in the top 2 and average in early 30’s.

Azhar and Asad have been given more than enough chances. Selectors need to make some easy decisions

I'll be genuinely shocked if Azhar and Asad don't make the Australia series.

Bring in Saad Ali, Saud, and Usman Saluhiddin. I don't care if Usman is a grinder, we just need someone to stick around at this point.

They may not be succesful, but they can't do worse than what we have now. Also I think 1-2 of them will come good and will average 45+ in Tests if given the chance.

Babar has been averaging 50 since jan 1 2018 which is pretty good considering he has toured places like england and south africa. A good progress after a mediocre start to his test career.

Haris sohail is good too but he has 6 scores between 25 and 40 (excluding not outs) out of 15 scores last year. One would assume once you have scored 25 , 30 you are well set to score 50+ at least. He was probably the only batsman to score more than one test hundred for pakistan last year. He definitely needs to focus more as he has the ability to score a lot of runs.
