Pakistan's win/loss record in all formats

100 off 15
200 off 30
300 off 45
340 off 50

This should be the mantra for pakistan Every player going at strke rate of 100 throughout Theres no settling getting your eye in Go hard from the start

This is what pakistan were doing the england series in 2019 and the world cup where they had some sucess

A big call is to be made with Imam. A strike rate of 80 is unacceptable, it is quite poor to be frank. I would not care if Imam averaged in the mid 40s but had a strike rate near or above 90. He's the definition of a player who occasionally plays for himself and the petty milestones of 50 and 100.

Even Babar needs to improve his batting with regards to being able to accelerate above a strike rate of 100.

Our lower order is abysmal, there is no way that we can hit 100 runs in the last 10 overs. We choke massively in the death overs, and without any set batsmen, our team would be lucky to even post a target of 300.

There is a balance to keep as well, you can't just start slogging everything.

England play a very selfless form of cricket, they expect nothing but raw aggression but also don't expect stupid shots. They want to maximize the output of runs by getting good starts in the powerplay. Almost everyone on their team can smash the ball out of the park with ease, but they also know how to play intelligent cricket.

Pakistan needs to be fearless. Players like Haider are outright aggressive but need to play according to the situation sometimes as well.

Similarly, our bowling needs to improve as well. Haris Rauf should be kept away from the ODI squad, he is unreliable with the ball at every stage of the game.

In my opinion, Shaheen and Hasnain should take the new ball whereas Faheem and Hasan pair in the middle overs.

Similarly, we'd need to sort out who our spinner is going to be, so that we can make the necessary changes and improvements.

Imam is very valuable for Pakistan because his batting style is still more useful than the alternative situation of being 20/3 more often than not.

The likes of Bairstow and Roy have immense talent and skill to get 100+ partnerships frequently while batting so aggressively.

The main challenge for teams like Pakistan is not their strike rates but their averages that complement their strike rates.

Many hacks can strike at 110+ but almost no one can maintain a 40+ average along with it.

Pakistan has no such players who can replicate this and a top 3 of Rizwan, Imam and Babar is the only effective combination at this point.

You add Haris at 4 and you probably get the most prolific top 4 that Pakistan has ever had in ODI cricket and certainly the most collapse-resistant.

Another bad run is upcoming in ODIs once Misbah leaves we might improve but expect us to lose 80-90% of ODIs this year and struggle to qualify for the WC in 2023.

Agreed, but there's two positions where Pakistan fails miserably as an ODI team. They are: using the powerplay, and scoring heaps of runs in the last 10 overs.

One of the biggest differences between Pakistan and most top white-ball teams at the moment is that they have two or three guys in the lower middle order who can take the game deep and hit at incredibly high strike rates to get valuable runs.

You can look at India with Pant + Pandya, Australia with Maxwell, England with Morgan + Stokes, etc.

There isn't a single game-changing player in our lower middle order, most are either hacks or bat at strike rates which are too low to be acceptable.

At the moment, Pakistan has practically no hitters/finishers in the lower order. Faheem is trying to become one, but I doubt he'll be in the same league as the likes of Pollard and Pandya. Shadab was seemingly a flop with the bat after one good PSL season.

The only player who actually looked competent in the lower middle order was Imad Wasim, but he's out of the team as well, leaving is with practically no options.

So whilst we may be able to create a reliable top 4 in Fakhar, Imam, Babar, and Rizwan/Haris, we probably won't be able to create an explosive middle order, because all our supposed "finishers" are just leg-side hacks or have stage fright.

It would be quite frustrating for the management, to see that we are just a few components away from being an ODI side which can thoroughly compete with the world's best.

The only solution I see, is to prolong the tail, meaning that we should have a guy able to hold a bat at least down till 9.

Our hope would be that one player settles in and allows others to go ballistic around him, but given that most of our batsmen have toothpicks for hands, I doubt we'll see explosive batting at any stage.

The best thing for Pakistan is to hope that Fakhar Zaman enters a good patch of form, truly perhaps the most aggressive batsman on our ODI team at the moment. If he's in form, we can actually stand a chance at setting scores above 300.

I think team is better then the past few years record, Time to make it right and start winning.
I am very much optimistic.

I expect pakistan to win alot more games overseas now that we will have a settled line up with imaam, babar, rizwan then add haider ali in thier we should consistantly score 300-320

What we did/achieved/avoided today In the last 15 overs , was totally embarrassing.
Nothing to be proud of at all.
The game was won at the 35 over mark and we lost it, south Africa choked and gave it back to us with van Der dussen dropping shadab and then the no ball

with this kind of a well settled team, Pakistan should beat India 3-2 in a 6 match ODI series
