PCB announces domestic cricket calendar for 2018/2019 as well as changes to prizes and match fees

Lahore-August 7, 2018: The Pakistan Cricket Board is pleased to announce the Domestic Cricket Calendar for the 2018-19 Cricket season.

The forthcoming domestic cricket season includes Regional Inter-District Senior (3-day), Inter Region U-19 (One-day and 3-day), Pentangular U-19 T-20 Cup, Regional Inter District U-19 (One-day), Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (First Class and One-day), Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Grade II, National T-20 Cup, Pakistan Cup (One-Day), and Patron’s Trophy Grade II.

The tournaments are to be held as follows :

1) Regional Inter District Senior (3 Day).

Dates :July 01 - 31, 2018

Venue : All Pakistan

2) Inter Region U-19 (1 Day)

Dates : August 01 - 28, 2018

Venue : Karachi / Pindi / Islamabad (In progress)

3) Inter Region U-19 (3 Day)

Dates : Sep 01 - Oct 09, 2019

Venue : Sindh / Punjab

4) Pentangular U-19 T20 Cup

Dates : Oct 21 - 27, 2018

Venue : Multan

5) QAT (First Class) & QAT (1 Day)

Dates : Sep 01 - Dec 08, 2018

Venue : All Pakistan

6) National T20 Cup

Dates : Dec 10 - 25, 2018

Venue : Karachi

7) Regional Inter District U-19 (1 Day)

Dates : Jan 01 - 20, 2019

Venue : All Pakistan

8) Pakistan Cup (1 Day)

Dates : Apr 02 - 14, 2019

Venue : Faisalabad / Multan

9) QAT Grade-II

Dates : Apr 16 - May 15, 2019

Following are some of the salient features introduced in the forthcoming cricket season 2018/19.

1. Match fees of players participating in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2018/19 have been increased from Rs.25,000/- to Rs.50,000/- per match

2. Match fees of players participating in the One-day tournament 2018/19 have been increased from Rs.20,000/- to Rs.25,000/- per match

3. Match fees of players participating in the T20 tournament 2018/19 have been increased from Rs.24,000/- to Rs.30,000/- per match

4. Match fees of players participating in the Pakistan Cup One Day tournament 2018/19 have been increased from Rs.30,000/- to Rs.35,000/- per match

5. Prize money of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2018/19 has been increased from Rs. 4,400,000/- to Rs.5,400,000/-

6. Prize money of T20 Tournament 2018/19 has been increased from Rs. 4,900,000/- to Rs.5,700,000/-

7. Prize money of Regional Inter District U-19 Tournament 2018/19 has been increased from Rs. 150,000/- to Rs.250,000/-

8. Prize money of Regional Inter-District Senior Tournament 2018/19 has been increased from Rs. 150,000/- to Rs.250,000/-

9. Under the new financial package, a domestic player in the playing XI will now get Rs.91,000/- for one QAT first-class match and One day match (Combined including Daily Allowance)

10. Remaining 4 players of the 15 member regional squad sitting on the bench will also get Rs. 34,750/- under new arrangements of this financial model for one Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and One day match (Combined including Daily Allowance)

Where is match fee details for u19 tournaments and grade 2 tournaments? Also where is prize money details for oneday tournament, Pakistan cup, u19 tournaments and grade 2 tournaments?

50,000 per match is pretty decent, how many games do each player play on average? 10? For Pakistan that is decent. They are still far behind there Indian counterparts (yes, the BCCI makes more money but they also have a bigger base then the PCB).

I think on average, each player should be making 75k-1 lakh per FC match (that's not even a $1000 USD).

Either way good job PCB. They are heading in the right direction.

Also, the T20 tourney prize money is greater than the premier FC tournaments?!

Increasing money is great, but I can bet almost every other things in the article will be changed by next year.

As of now, the schedule of National T20 and PAK Cup are too late - NT20 should leave enough time for PSL to scout local players, while PAK Cup should leave enough space for sorting WC preliminary 35. Ideally, NT20 should have started in NOV, PAK Cup DEC and QeA splited between SEP_OCT, and then MAR_May.

These cricketers are also hired by departments so they get regular salary as well. Yes, the life of a cricketer is small, true which is why they should continue their education while playing cricket.

The selection of eight regional teams that are participating in the National T20 Tournament scheduled in Multan (Dec10 to Dec 25) will take place at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Thursday, November 8.

Regional stakeholders, national senior and junior selectors besides NCA coaches will take part in the selection process that would be conducted on the lines of a Draft system.
