In a bid to further strengthen the age-group structure and ensure that young cricketers are fully equipped for the modern-day cricket, Mr Ramiz Raja announced plans to launch an U19 T20 league to develop cricketers from the nascent stages.

“We need to develop an environment in which we generate professional cricketers at young level,” he said. “This will help the HBL Pakistan Super League franchises as well, who are on the lookout for youngsters. I would like the former greats to coach them. We need to give push to the age-group cricketers so they can excel in the sport from the early age.”

Sounds like a really good idea if this gets launched would definitely be looking forward too it

this is a bad idea. u19 players are good hitters because of the bad quality players they face. Same goes for the bowlers.

U19 players dont have experience and stamina of one day or 3 day cricket which should be the goal.

Another goal should be that the u19 plahyers taht are good and dont make it to the regions second 11, how could you keep them in the cricket system. Improve club level.

Introudce u23 or u25 teaams of a system where those who didnt play u19 cricket get a fair chance.

Good idea as long as the players participating in this league are actually 19 and under. The last thing we need is players like Naseem Shah who are 20-21 pretending to be 16, playing in this league. Rameez needs to come down hard on age fudging.

This will help these players in league all around the world and PSL will get better prepared youngsta beauties.

This kinda like teaching high school kids practical trades. It will make them more hirable but may hinder higher level learning.

If age fidging is stopped, we would not have mamy talented players playing for us.

Age fudging has to be done as there are no u23 or u25 cricket system

One of the worst ideas I've heard. Why not an U19 4-day tournament? Rameez with his "modern cricket" shtick is going to make things worse, I'm afraid. This is only gonna help the pajama leagues and breed more mercenaries and wanna-be Shahid Afridis.

Good ideas but with a history of age fudging, we can now see grown ups masquerading as U19 specialists.

The only way to stop this is to institute a permanent cricketing ban on players caught cheating this way with heavy penalties on the board.

"Sorry, I don't know when I was born or my birth was not recorded" is not an excuse any more.

Not like we have many talented players playing for us right now anyway.

And age fudging harms the development of actual young players. Imagine if a 16 year old Naseem Shah who is actually in his early 20s plays in this league. He is taking the spot of someone who is actually under 19.

Well as long as 23 year olds are not playing under 19 which always happens in Pakistan cricket!

I am not a big fan of this T20 league business. We need guys who can survive 50 overs or 90 overs.

A compromise could have been some kind of 40 over league. T20 impacts temperament and encourages hacks and slogging. Look where Haider is now can't even buy a few runs in CPL.
Our next focus should be 2023 50 over world cup.
Or perhaps make it under 23 and then also add players from overseas and some foreign coaches especially for batsmen.

That argumebt is correct, but than also look at the fact that had a fake naseem or fake shadab never played age group cricket with fake ages they would had never been unearthern.

This is why isay pcb needs to start u25 or u30 tournaments for those players that havnt played first class crixket.

The senior district trials we have, they choose mostly those players that have played u19 cricket or are known in the club circle.

An unknown player to enter the senior districts is reallly really really dificult if he hasnt played u19.

I am afraid most of the young batsmen will go Haider Ali route.

I don't know why Pakistan is so obsessed with T20s (Still struggling in T20 internationals).

You been on a rampage to criticize every move of Ramiz since he kicked out Misbah and Waqar who carried the team into downward spiral..

First of all , I would like to remind you that Misbah snatched the job for himself by kicking out Mickey Arthur
