My PTSD gets triggered when I hear "talent hunt program" as it reminds me of all the hours standing in an endless queue to wait for your turn in the midst of over age boys & nepotism induced (plus parchi) selection process.

A personal anecdote, over age boys are asked to have "cheesa shave" which means razor shave by local barbers so not even a shred of stubble is visible before the trial. To get all those 20 plus boys look like barely 16 or lower really is a an art which is bestowed to an elite few that have penchant of acquiring skills that mere mortals run away from.

PCB partners with Ghani Group to host Ghani School Cricket Cup 2025 in Lahore

The Pakistan Cricket Board, in collaboration with the Ghani Group, has announced the schedule for the Ghani School Cricket Cup 2025, a 35-overs-a-side one-day tournament featuring eight leading school teams from Lahore.

The competition, aimed at promoting school-level cricket and identifying young talent, will be played across multiple venues in Lahore, including the PCB headquarters at Gaddafi Stadium.

The eight participating teams are Aitchison College, Beaconhouse, Crescent Grammar School, Gohar Education System, Moon Public School, Muslim Model High School, Pilot School and The City School.

The tournament was inaugurated by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday before the opening match took place between Aitchison College and Beaconhouse at the GIC Ground in Lahore. League-stage matches will continue throughout the month, leading up to the semi-finals and the final, which will be played at Gaddafi Stadium. All three matches schedule will be announced in due course.

The first ball of each match will be bowled at 10am, with the toss taking place at 9.30am.

Knockout stage of PCB Talent Hunt Programme for Schools in KP to begin from Tuesday​

Eight school teams will feature in the knockout round of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa-leg of the PCB Talent Hunt Programme for Schools 2025-26, commencing on Tuesday, 4 November. The eight teams qualified after finishing at the top of their respective districts in tournament held across the region earlier this year.

The seven matches of the tournament will be played from 4 to 9 November across Swabi, Kohat, Swat and Haripur.

The eight participating teams are GCMHS #3 (Mansehra), GHSS Gujar Garhi (Mardan), Ihsan Model School & College (Bannu), RISE School & College (Haripur), Star English Medium School (Swabi), The Swat Forebal School (Swat), Unique Vision School (Peshawar) and University Model School (Kohat).

Four teams from the knockout round will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for 5 and 6 November, while the final will take place on 9 November with the venue to be announced in due course.
