Haris gave a wonderful performance at 3 Vs SA

But then you demote him for no reason for a guy who is mentally shot and not a specialist bat at 3.

Imagine what this means to Haris. They have so little confidence in me playing left arm spinners that they have to send a left handed lower order guy to protect me.

They did the same with Haider Ali by needlessly dropping him and shuffling him in the batting order based on the day, even when he was in form. Opener one day, #3 the other, then 6, then dropped after a 39, then back in, etc.

Same with Sohaib Maqsood.

Babar is the only one who’s been given a free pass at the position he’s worst at. While everyone is being needlessly shuffled. Zero certainty. Creating unnecessary doubt in the minds of everyone. A new batting order everyday with the same garbage opening pair.

Harris should be opening. Nawaz is a waste of space. I would rather have Asif Ali in the team.

yeah we arent even bowling nawaz
drop him and get asif ali
even if he only hits two sixes and gets out thats still better than nawaz

The frenzy regarding Haris atm is exemplary, however at he is also a slogger who'd be found out soon hopefully he can give us these chunks of performance before the bubble bursts

Pakistan are the only team who is playing a flexible batting line and its worked for them in the past with the promotion of Nawaz and Shadab.

Not sure what is meant by ruined when it's the PCB itself that have given Haris the opportunity after assessing his hitting abilities quite quickly.

At the moment Haris is playing with a free mind and not worried about the wickets falling or taking any responsibility, therefore it doesn't matter whether he bats at 3 or 4. Pakistan is using him the right way.

Seniors rule.

It's always been the case in Pakistan cricket.

Why would you term it a demotion? Every position has a role to play and is important as any other

Only pakistani fans view such moves negatively Is surya kumar playing in a demoted position?

The think tank should be praised for trying to think outside their little box rather than playing so rigidly

They need to do the same with the opening positions too

Dont think anyone ruined Haider Ali. The guy has had the elite opportunity to work with Hashim Amla, Inzi at Peshawar Zalmi. Mohd Yousaf at the NCA and Pakistan team. Younis Khan in the Pakistani team. He has now been playing international cricket for 3 years and hasn't learnt a damn thing. His temprament is shockingly poor. He needs a few years in first class cricket and needs to consistently score big before getting called up again.

Yep. You get the gist of what I’m trying to say here. Inzi was the last captain under who young stars got proper chances at the position which they were made for, and he and MoYo had no issues dropping themselves down to 4-5. Since Misbah I’ve noticed the trend that every new aggressive batsman somehow finds himself at 6 eventually and is given the role of finisher.

Am I saying that these young players should blame the management alone for their shortcomings when they begin to fail? No.

But these senseless shuffles of the batting order reeks of a cricket team in chaos with zero planning, pinch hitters being promoted ahead of the 2 in form bats in Haris and Ifti.

Wasim, Waqar and Malik all seem to agree with this point in the Pavillion too. That this type of random batting positions every game do not create an ideal environment for young players, especially those that have spent their entire career at the top order now being expected to “finish”.

It made sense when the specialist bats were out of form. But they’re not anymore. Besides, Nawaz is not the same mentally and needs to take a break for a bit. Anyone can see that. That’s the last person you promote to 3.

Haris is a top order Asif Ali. He has performed, but given his style of play he will be really inconsistent.

Main thing is he in the team, batting positions should not bother him.

Inzy and Yousuf werent doing it for anyones else benefit but their own As they got older they didnt want to face the new ball and thats why they slid lower down Hiding away at 4 and 5
As seniors they shouldve been taking responsibility and stepping up and leading the way not throwing baby lambs to the lions

Name me one young batter that developed and became a top test and odi batter for pakistan during their reign?

The point is its t20 cricket and batting positions are not really important Yes maybe it wasnt a good idea in the end but its not gonna ruin a good young player if hes the real deal

The cream will rise to the top no matter what position you bat in t20s
